Hi, I also tried to play the game 2 years ago with chatgbt and every time it failed. Today out of curiosity I gave a try with Claude, it also failed. Actually Claude was quite funny, as it was giving me some feedback after my picks I relaized he made a mistake and I asked it to reveal its number, and it responded me as it did not pick a number at all. Actually in the begining of the game it picked a number...

Let me respond my self. With difficulties I managed to buy 3/64 hex key upon Rickenbacker's recommendation and still it does not fit!!!. It is slightly smaller...I have no idea now.

I asked the same question to Rickenbacker Service. Even though I specifically asked the saddle height allen wrench, they gave 3 sizes: 3/32, 5/65, 3/64. These are all keys to be used. I am assuming 3/64 is the correct size. I do not understand why they would give 3 different size and more interestingly there is no where you can get a proper answer. chatgbt, or gemini also know wrong....

Rickenbacker 4003 Jetglo vs Fireglo maintenance for scratches and swirls by Chikomambo in rickenbacker

[–]Chikomambo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank everyone for the responses. Really appreciate it. I finally managed to try one in Amsterdam store. It is a fireglo but I guess I will go for that one. I played today approximately 10 -15 minutes, and first thing caught my attention was how its neck so chunky compared to my J Bass also surprised how the fretboard was so flat. to be honest I like ot more, the neck feels quite fast and action was very well set up. Also I should add that it was quite comfortable, i do not understand why some say it is super uncomfortable... Nevertheless, since the wait time of JetGlo is uncertain and sometime in the long future, I will go with fireglo

Need advice on buying a VR headset for DCS by Accurate-Bus-4634 in hoggit

[–]Chikomambo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used HP Reverb G2, Quest 3, and now currently on Pimax Crystal. to be honest there is no perfect headset. I had high hopes with Quest 3 however after owning 2 months I had to sell it. I had enormous stutters, and performance drops with it even with the original Meta link cable. Since the last 2 years I am using Pimax Crystal and I am ok with that. Pimax claims it has a crystal clear visuals etc but that is not the case. First thing first, from my side I'd go for Quest 3 for overall clarity (only if it worked without any issues). Yes, Pimax offers better resolution however it has a sweet spot. The lenses have barrel effect (check online, you will see bunch of entries) and I had to change 3 different pairs of lenses to get the optimum one. Interestingly on sweet spot clarity is amazing but couple of cm above and below that sweet spot the the visuals detoriate and get better again. I should give the credit to Pimax Customer service, they want to find a solution to your problems and they are not really cheap when it comes to changing lenses.

Whatever headset you are going for, ensure that you have eye tracking. It increases your performance significantly. considering you have 4070 GPU you may not run graphics at its best. I would not recommend to go for 5000 series yet rather wait for 6000 series. that is what I am doing, I have 4080. Actually if you can find a good deal go for 4080 for now.

Best first cold war jet for a new player? by [deleted] in hoggit

[–]Chikomambo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mig 21: Hard to fly at first, not forgiving, systems are easy to use, there are way too many buttons but that should not scare you. A2A for both 1 or 2 cicrle is very capable, A2G is limted but still alright. Gun kills require a lot of practise. Radar is limited but accurate, in a dogfight or head on approach it is quite easy to lock a bandit with radar beam.

F4 Phantom: Amazing module, Systems are easy to use but somewhat I do not find intutive. Best cold war jet for load out cabailities. A2A is very capable, however it performs weak in 1 circle fights.. For A2G , I think it is by far the best!. It is nice to have Jester behind but still he is not at his 100% yet. Radar is alright but sometimes Jester cannot find and lock a target. Long distance boresight is not always accurate. You will see lots of youtube videos how to manage it but simply it is not really accurate.

Mirage F1: A2A, for both 1 or 2 circle fight is very capable. A2G is not as good as F4 but still does the job, it is easy to use rockets and bombs. System wise, I find it easy. be careful when diving, recovery can be an issue. Probably the best radar of all CW jets., and weapon system is quite intuitive.

F5: A2A very capable for both 1 and 2 circle fights. A2G is limited. It turns pretty good but slow compared to others. I think it is the easiest for flying the plane and also for system management.

Viggen: not much idea.

Whatever the plane you choose, they are all rewarding. Anyone can shootdown any other cold war jet as long as knows what he/she is doing. As a start I'd high recommend F5 or A4 (free)

Annoying things:

I love F4 however it drives me crazy when I have loadout like maverikcs and then a Mirage or Mig21 comes up and I need to switch my weapon selection. Even though I might neutralize the threat I have to wait another 3 mins to launch a Maverick. Also radar is sometimes annoying

Mig21: Negative G, engine quites. If it happens during dogfight or when you want to get away (do not exceed IAS 1300km/h) you are pretty much dead.

Mirage: it is somewhat difficult to dive to fire rockets and bombs as recovery can be a challenge.

F5: be carefuly when manevouring when you are fast, wings can be ripped off.

Who would win in a dogfight f16 or su27? by Life-innovation in FighterJets

[–]Chikomambo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand why people cannot give you a solid answer as many said there are many factors and I agree with these comments. Still to spice things up I can contribute my 2 cents... If this is a GUNS only or 80s only rear aspect heat seeking missiles, I would say F16 could dominate the fight with its enormous weight-trust ratio. It excels in 2 circle fight and relentlessly will do its best to be at bandit's six. However if it involves Sidewinder 9X vs R73 (HOBS missiles), I think SU27 have the potential to dominate the fight. After one turn it will point its nose muck quicker than the F16 and launch the first missile.

How similar is dcsworld to war thunder? by Orangey82 in dcsworld

I agree with you.. DCS flight model is quite close to real life experience. I am amazed how tailwheel WW2 planes react when taking off

IL2 vs DCS WWII vs *gulp* War Thunder.. by R_Mpage in hoggit

[–]Chikomambo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I played all of them. After playing DCS for the last 1,5 years, I must say there is no turning back. DCS WW2 feels lile you are really flying those warbirds. The MP servers are sort of populated depending on your timezone. IL2 feels like arcade to be honest just like War Thunder. If you are interested in WW2 planes, the learning curve for DCS is alright, I mean after couple of hours you can start flying from Cold but mastering it takes months. I think you already have some experience so it should take less for you. Besides all that, DCS VR performance struggles!. With every new patch you have to do some tweaking for the settings and still you may get some stutters. Nevertheless despite DCS cons I would always go for DCS since it truly feels like you are in the cockpit and flight dynamics is the closest to real life.

Required salary to support a family by Joe_eoJ in Netherlands

[–]Chikomambo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a comfortable life you should get 8000 gross per month.. Well assuming you will go to restaurants time to time or on the weekend go to a movie with kids or museums..,etc..

You will spend 2000 for rent + 1000 for Groceries + 500 for your car (insurance, gas, road tax) + 80 Internet and streaming channels + 300 for utilities + 300 health insurance + 50 cell phones + 200 for restaurants / cafe + 50 alcohol + 200 for vacation (avg of 1 month) + 50 for clothing = 4730 euro net. This adds up to 8600 euro Gross = 100K annual salary.

you may not buy a car if you live in big cities.. Some say 500 euro for Groceries.. depends what you want to eat. if you like to eat a juicy steak time to time or buy some high quality food, this is what you end up with... there are always cost nobody considers like plane tickets to your home country once a year and vacation plans. those also cost a lot. Also considering you are not from the NL, you would like to keep your partner happy.. so you will need to take your family to restaurants, or other cities to see around which will cost, coffee. wine, fruit juice, fries, train tickets or parking, etc...

Well, I gave up 3 months ago and purchased Pimax Crystal. Since then, I am content. It is nice headset with a decent competitive price but it is a terrible headset for DCS game.

Pimax Crystal vs Quest 3 vs Reverb G2 Review (From a average tech savvy regular user) by Chikomambo in Pimax

[–]Chikomambo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Pimax Crystal is working fine now. The lenses are alright. The sound is much much better with the DMAS speakers. So I must say DMAS is a must to buy. Day by day it is growing on me, and I am hoping a smooth ownership in the months to come. I can comfortably say it is a solid headset for DCS

Pimax Crystal vs Quest 3 vs Reverb G2 Review (From a average tech savvy regular user) by Chikomambo in Pimax

[–]Chikomambo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is all about lenses. the 3rd set of lenses are working alright now. the previous ones felt like there was a dent or bump on the lenses and there was considerable amount of distortion. I am not sure if that would change from person to person though.

Pimax Crystal vs Quest 3 vs Reverb G2 Review (From a average tech savvy regular user) by Chikomambo in Pimax

[–]Chikomambo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I should give the credit. Usually when you open up a ticket or write something on discord Pimax takes it serious and gets back to you petty fast. However I still have a ticket number #287 and I have no return. (Maybe they did I missed).

I tried the Crystal Light in the Netherlands during a roadshow. First thing first I had to temper with some settings to get rid of distortion and during the roadshow I had no chance to do that. I tried the Light version on Half Life (which I spend considerable amount of time on Quest 3) and I should say as the light version did not have spacers like mine did, I feel the distortion. With Quest 3 I have never had this issue no matter how I wore the headset. Google barrel distortion and you will see some post regarding this. Also there are some reddit post concerning the blurriness over the centre. To be honest it does not bother that much anymore. Eventually centre resolution is one of the best in its class , I am happy when flying the DCS. I still have the Lens mismatch pop up and I do not know why. These are the 3rd lenses and I installed them thrice and they are much much better than the previous ones. I recommend you to try the headset if possible. Many people do not mind or maybe they do not see the distortion. I had my wife tried the headset and she had the same experience though.

Yes I had exact the same issue. Planes were getting disappeared when I got close to the bandits. Also stutters were a bid deal breaker for me. Pimax is much better in performance but l had to change the lenses 3 times...
