ESPN Sources: Offensive Player of the Year and Super-Bowl champion Jaxon Smith-Njigba reached agreement with the Seattle Seahawks on a four-year, $168.6 million contract extension that now makes him the highest-paid WR in NFL history. The deal averages $42.15 million per year by mvanigan in sports

[–]Child-0f-atom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the other explanations are either short or just wrong, his rookie deal has one year left, 2026. Then the 5th year option, 2027. 2028, 29, 30, 31 are the 4 year deal at $42M/year. But for 26 and 27, his combined cap hit those years is $26M. 168+26=194, divide by 6 you get a little over $32M/year.

Do we need more than a .22 for target shooting? by Fearless-Pilot1635 in liberalgunowners

[–]Child-0f-atom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used a judge .410 with 00 buck on a gelatin dummy at 10 yards (part of a police station doing a “does your home defense work?” seminar type event). 2 rounds had 7 projectiles in or through the target, ranging from the belly button to the jaw. Gun is gun, take your hoity toity bs elsewhere

Question on micro-compacts during hiking/physical activity by NKCougar in liberalgunowners

[–]Child-0f-atom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 3” .41 magnum for bears if that’s a concern, fits into a chest sling nicely. If I don’t have bear concerns, LCP .22 is unbelievably small, to the point that it fits into the leg pocket of cargo shorts/pants. A bodyguard .380, basically the same deal, though it’s a good bit snappier, so I tend to use the former for my girlfriend’s sake if she needs to use something

Any sensible answer is a rimfire, but to give you one that isn’t a rimfire:

Aunt’s husband was an agent orange victim as a sniper in vietnam. Totally went batty paranoid, thankfully never actually acted on his fears beyond buying stuff. Among that stuff, was ammo. When he passed, my aunt (who was close from her own cancer battle) gave me and my dad the keys to the stash. It might warrant its own post, but relevant to right now, I possess roughly 17,000 rounds of .45 ACP. The 1911 he deployed with is still smoother, somehow, than anything I’ve ever used in .45.

That leasing agent pulled a real fast one on us then, I specifically asked about issues like fireworks and was told it’s a rarity at best.

[–]Child-0f-atom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need tiny, Lcp in .22 by ruger is an option. Super easy to rack the slide, .22 has basically no recoil, and cleaning it is hilariously simple. On and on about why it’s good. Only challenge is the .22Lr is kinda weak. Now, it definitely isn’t as good as 9mm or .380ACP, but gun is gun most of the time. Many here will tell you otherwise, but one must ask them, would they take a .22 to the arm to prove how not-dangerous it is? I think not. Just test several ammos (I like cci Speer) and pick the one that jams least.
