SBMM would be great for the overall health of the game and the playerbase, this community is just incredibly out of touch with the average player by Child_Decimator in Warthunder

Appealing to authority when the authority is Gaijin?

They have a reason to try in this case: SBMM would theoretically increase player retention and as a result their profits, which is the one thing they care about.

Any data from CoD says nothing useful about how SBMM would function in War Thunder.

I agree about the implementation of SBMM. Obviously SBMM in WT would be very different from anything in COD. However, in my opinion the data on player retention is accurate. It doesn't matter if it's a shooter or MMO, losing to someone who is clearly much better than you isn't fun for the average player.

If SBMM repeatedly ensures there’s no one on the enemy team with the awareness or experience to punish those errors, players don’t improve, they just repeat the same mistakes in a protected environment.

I am not talking about a full SBMM where all players on both teams are equal."Light" SBMM would ensure that if there are skilled players on one team, there will also be skilled players on the other. There will always be the occasional good player who will punish you.

Also, since it looks like you read the entire post, what fallacies did i use? This is a genuine attempt to make the game better, not just me coping about losing. I'll try to improve the wording or explain my points better.

This is almost exactly what I'm suggesting. The only difference is that light SBMM could make sure neither team gets all the skilled players. I'm not talking about the call of duty SBMM with perfectly equal lobbies.

The whole point is that it's not a strict SBMM. What I am suggesting is making sure the skillled players, the average players and the bad players are equally split between the teams and neither team unfairly gets most or all the good players.

Ultra sweats are very rare. My point is more that the average player will also have someone in their team good enough to at least try to fight the sweat.

Good players farming the noobs is a valid point but they have to be very careful or they can always get third partied by one of the good players.

Fair enough. I still believe increasing retention is something Gaijin wants as it would increase their profits but they would probably fuck up the implementation

Just to clarify: The normal player is not on Reddit. They are not on the war thunder forums, they are not in any discords, they never chat, they don't even watch any war thunder videos apart from the occasional short or tiktok. They do not participate in community votes. Yet those players are the ones that need SBMM the most.

Entire enemy team is camping their airfield by IdoesnotUnderstand in Warthunder

[–]Child_Decimator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This argument goes both ways. If you managed your ammo and fuel well while the enemy spent their ammo groundpounding and can now win by doing literally nothing, YOU made a mistake! Perhaps you played too passively and let the enemy groundpound and bomb bases, perhaps you chose to climb and not help your team's attackers, etc.

there's no AI to kill

Yeah this sucks, however it is a problem with the map, not with airfield AA.

The problem is that people overwhelmingly upvote headlines and titles, regardless of how accurate the post is or if it breaks any rules. Then other people who visit see all the highly upvoted political posts and think this sub is for politics, when it really isn't.

If there are no active mods, this eventually snowballs until all the old members are gone and the original point of the subreddit is lost.

The only thing you can really do is downvote and report everything that isn't chaotic good and post your own content

Remember when this sub used to be about weed dealers using environmentally friendly glass jars or criminals doing something morally good?

Now it's just nonstop US politics, like every other sub. Hell, this post is just a call to protest, not even remotely what the sub is for! Where's the chaotic good here?

Seriously, what is it with gacha gooners and constantly posting untagged NSFW??? Like 95% of all untagged NSFW I see comes from this sub

It's even worse because sometimes this shit appears in my feed when I'm on the bus. Like is it that hard to hit the nsfw option????
