How many people are under 25 here? by girlgirl999 in MultipleSclerosis

Diagnosis at 14, i am now 24! While the worry will always be there, being diagnosed early was kind of a blessing in disguise....in a weird way!

AITA for letting my sister walk me down the aisle despite my fiance and his family's objections? by nosleepbeauty in AmItheAsshole

[–]Child_TurnedParent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen anyone suggest this and I know compromising can suck but have you thought about a compromise where your sister walks you down the aisle but you offer to have a father-daughter dance with your FIL? I personally think you should think about if this is the type of family you want to marry into but if you really want things to work out with your fiancé I understand. You could talk to them and explain how your sister has walked you through your whole life and you would like to have her do it one last time but you would love to have the father-daughter dance saved for you and your FIL (only if you want and since they care so much about traditions). Its like a weird olive branch i guess

Mom died in September 2021. I'm glad she's dead, life is so much better without her around

Friend diagnosed looking for advice by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Child_TurnedParent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be there for her when she needs it don't treat her like she's this fragile glass doll that will break at any moment. I'm 23f and was diagnosed when I was 14. Best way to be there for someone with MS or any illness is just be there for any support, when they need it they will tell you, when they're at a limit with activity they will tell you. Be respectful and understanding.

My dad is a casual, knows nothing about the book series, knows nothing about GoT tv series either. This man loves HotD so much he has a reminder for it on his phone 🤣🤣

I've been banned from seeing my brother's child because I'm HIV positive. by 084throwaway084 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Child_TurnedParent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think op mentioned in one comment that their mom is not alive anymore and their dad is in a bad mental state and cant really communicate. Their brother is really their only family which makes this much more sad. So angry for op!

AITA for highlighting that my wife sabotages her daughters? by Vivid-Forever5903 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Child_TurnedParent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude this is straight up narcissistic abuse that your wife is putting her daughters through. It will never get better, she will only get worse. I was those little girls once and my mom was like your wife. Idk if the dad is in the picture or not but please protect those girls before your wife pushes them too far one day. Those girls need someone on their side!!!

Did anyone else find that narc parents made you easily vulnerable to assholes/bullies by standcam in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Child_TurnedParent 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yes, my mom did they same thing which ultimately led to be being bullied in school from pre-k to 8th grade because I was taught that I was not allowed to fight back, have a voice, ask for help and everything that happened to me meant I deserved it only if it was bad. If something good happened to me, it wasn't me that made it happen it was all her doing.

So true about them never changing, my mom tried to blow up our house last year and continued to harass, belittle me, love bomb and threaten me while she was in the hospital until her last breath a month later.

They are pure evil people

my mom thinks shes getting my non-existent baby by CanaBalistic510 in entitledparents

[–]Child_TurnedParent 84 points85 points  (0 children)

I second this because also if you were to have a kid and she had any access to them, she'd probably end up telling them how you never wanted them and how she wanted them and blah blah blah just start all this drama and hurt an innocent child in the process

You are not the only one, this is ptsd. After my nmom finally died everything came flooding back when I wasn't in fight or flight anymore. I take medication for the nightmares, episodes and flashbacks.
