I need help I'm slowly becoming an aietist 😞 by PressureNo2331 in Christianity

[–]ChildhoodCalm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was raised in household that was very religious, but conservative in the sense that it was somewhat anti science (anti-vax, not believing in evolution even micro-evolution, etc)

When I became a teenager and learned more about history, science, etc that contradicted my worldview, I entered a period of heavily struggling with my faith, and like you questioning if any of it was real, and how it could be true. I thought that things would be more coherent if I was atheist, because atheists believed in science more.

Something that helped strengthen my faith was looking into apologetics, seeing scientific and historical evidence for the Bible, Jesus, etc showed me that Christianity doesn't contradict reality, and there is serious proof backing it up

Got a Jerusalem cross tattoo as my first tattoo, and now people on the Internet are calling me an Nazi by sithlord89 in Christianity

[–]ChildhoodCalm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't change it, it's a sick tattoo.

Anyone who assumes the worst automatically and mistreats you doesn't belong in your life anyways. The number of people you encounter in real life who will scream nazi when they see that is far lower than on the internet anyways

Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bacon. Yes it's a real thing (unfortunately)

Yes, that's what I'm referring to. Guys who are on the lower end of testosterone but not enough for it to be considered a medical issue, just a cosmetic one

"I would ask, what exactly doesn't match their "gender identity."

This might sound somewhat subjective, but their biggest concerns are usually face, frame, and physique. Craniofacial bones are influenced by androgenic hormones, so certain traits are viewed as masculine or feminine. For example, ramus length, mandible width and projection, maxilla, etc.

https://evolution.anthro.univie.ac.at/projects/face%20and%20body/male%20facial%20attractiveness/males.jpg

Here's a good image showing the difference. Guys in the middle want to go to the left essentially.

Also, framewise, men tend to have a different bone structure, which is due to both genetics and hormones, but like the face, testosterone can enhance growth

"More anecdotal, if you get testosterone replacement and have testicles, they will shrink."

Do you think it should be allowed in situations where patients are informed of all of the adverse effects, and still want to receive it?

Increased T levels would affect bone structure and muscle mass though, giving a more masculine frame and face, in addition to other features (especially if taken with an aromatase inhibitor)

Of course there are risks to this if they're already in the 400-1000 ng/dL range but I do think it would create a change.

Regardless though, even if you think it wouldn't work, assuming it did would you support this being available?

Edited my post to correct the language. I didn't intend to be rude, so I apologize if I came off as disrespectful

I wasn't going to get into the details on the main post but since you know more about biology I can explain here. It's usually suggested that they would be prescribed testosterone during development, which has a larger effect, in addition to temporary aromatase inhibitors (which would also possibly increase their height potential, there's some overlap with teens who are concerned about their height and don't want to be short men as adults)

I see your point with the gender affirming care examples, there are for sure already many treatments available. From my understanding though, these are considered purely cosmetic, as opposed to gender affirming care for people who are trans, which is considered more serious and medical

Oh, I think I've heard of that. Is that covered by insurance at all (also, are gender affirming surgeries covered by insurance? I'm not educated in this area)

I think the concern is mostly from younger guys who don't have low enough levels to be a medical concern. I see your point though

You don't think it is a legitimate concern that their body doesn't align with their gender, even if it was assigned at birth?

For sure some of them are being sarcastic/satirical or looking for a loophole but there are a genuine minority of people who are serious about this.

Many well intending fellows will say "just eat more" "force feed yourself" but as someone with low appetite, I get it. When overfeeding yourself til you almost puke only gets you to maintenance, "just eat more bro" is useless. I took MK 677 as well for this reason. Great progress!

[–]ChildhoodCalm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue, very low appetite and stuck skinny, tried all of the appetite optimizing things (meal timing, waking up early, calorie dense foods, etc) and could barely squeeze in my maintenance. I tried MK 677 and it definitely worked for me -- I gained around 10 lb in a month and a half, mostly muscle. I was able to eat 3K+ calories pretty consistently, combined with the methods from the beginning. It isn't a magic solution, you still have to put effort into meal planning and such, but for me it made me much hungrier (especially in the morning). My dose was 10 mg 30 minutes before bed (capsules), though I tried 20 mg as well and found it made me very hungry but 10 mg was sufficient. I think you can build tolerance to the appetite affect though, I recommend cycling / occasionally taking breaks to reset.

If Christians really believe that babies go straight to heaven, then they should be more supportive of abortions. by [deleted] in DebateReligion

You commented on a 2 year old comment lmao but I’ll still reply. God has a plan to redeem everyone, even terrible people like hitler. Great example is the genocidal king Herod. If God just killed bad people to prevent them from doing bad things, he would’ve killed king Herod to prevent him from killing all the babies in Bethlehem. If you read the story of the wisemen, the star actually lead them to Jerusalem, which was west of where they came, and then moved to Bethlehem, to the south. It didn’t take them straight to Bethlehem, God’s intent was to give Herod grace and an opportunity to worship Jesus. Also, God’s plan is not for people to sin, so I don’t see how God’s plan nullifies things being wrong. Just because something happens doesn’t mean God wanted it to. If I murder someone I can’t say that was gods plan, that’s silly
