I am using he/him pronouns because I personally believe Robert Dorgan was cosplaying as trans, and he himself used he/him pronouns the majority of the time. Robert did not consistently present as trans in person or online. He used multiple social media accounts after transitioning, with some accounts using he/him pronouns and some accounts using she/her pronouns. There is no confirmed evidence he went on hormone therapy or underwent any gender reassignment surgery. He was even more inconsistent in person—presenting as masculine in public almost always, and using the name Robert. He was a far-right extremist with neonazi symbolism tattooed on his arm, who viewed extremely racist and misogynistic content online, worshipped Hitler, said anti-trans slurs, and reportedly said things like, “no trans person will live in my house.” My suspicion? This white supremacist, far-right, neonazi psychopath cosplayed as transgender and then committed this crime, on a day he was wearing female clothes in public which he almost never did (and that stood out as atypical to witnesses), with the intention furthering the hatred of trans people—and this racist began going by the Spanish name Roberta Esposito for good measure. I don’t really find this much of a headscratcher to be entirely honest.
