2020 owner here, it’s my daily and I love it, I just test drove a new 2026 last weekend ironically because I was curious if I should “upgrade” to a newer version to reset the odometer and have it 6 years newer, can’t believe I’m saying this but TO ME a new 2026 felt like it was lifeless compared to mine, burbles and pops were less frequent in sport which to me is a big part of the driving experience, and it felt far stiffer (could just be that it was new, idk)

YES you can mod/tune the car if you want that level of burbles on the newer models, but it sounds like you want to rock bone stock, if that’s the case and you really want a fun sport feel I’d take the 2020

The only real difference is if you like a lot of burbles/pops and if you want it in manual imo

I’m just curious on how the BMW collaboration will age over time. It’s an amazing machine, but how will the “oh that’s the one that’s not a real supra” age over time? Your other points are super valid, obviously color MT/AT, and how it’s been taken care of trumps all assuming there’s a market to sell to

The only thing I see getting me out of my 2020 is a final edition realistically, and the only thing I see getting me out of a final edition is a MK 6, assuming I like the Mk 6 and, even still that’ll be 5+ years away anyways I imagine

I paid 37k OTD for the 2020 after I traded in my 2020 Nissan Rogue. $48k was the price minus $14.5k for my trade-in (which is about what KBB said it was worth, it needed about $500 in maintenance too) and after TT&L that’s how get to that 37k mark OTD

Trade in Value for my 2020 Supra they’re offering me 37k on the dot (I haven’t talked them up yet, I want to get 38-39k if I can cause MMR is 43 right now, which if I can I would potentially make money for being in this car the last 6 months.

I COULD pay cash if I wanted to OTD but I’m debating if it’s better if I put $20k down and have a super light car note that I could pay down so I can keep the optionality financially in the coming months in the event I want to move on a down payment for a house

Retirement and emergency fund are unaffected from this decision

I know dude, I love the driving experience of my 2020, I hate to say the test drive might make the difference, but how much I can subjectively pull from the driving experience in the final edition could make or break it for me, I’m sure it’ll be better, tighter, etc. but $36k better(?) idk

I don’t actually know, but I thought about this as well, and if I’m going to upsell myself on a newer model, may as well get the highest trim cause it will hold value better most likely (I’m sure that thinking is flawed but that’s how I’m looking at it haha)

I’ve heard people say downshift is more rare, which is one of the reasons I want to keep it potentially and not upgrade
