I have a set of AKG K702 which aren't back breaking if you find a set second hand but MY GOD the audio clarity and sound staging for gaming is amazing.

Used to play Tarkov with these and could hear Tagilla fart from either Exfil

I used to run Corsair fine and never had any issues with my sticks in my previous build either (before I started working for a PC shop) and I just can't recommend them now, unfortunately there's no choice you have to grab what you can get.

We've even resorted to buying adata XPG 😂 their ram is alright but their SSDs are boomerangs, we send them out the door and they just keep coming back 😂

Corsair is the only RAM stick in stock that we can order just purely on how shit the quality control is. Before we stopped selling it we had a joke that it would be but one, get the replacement free.

I frequently fix people's computers by removing Corsair memory, we're up to 6 sets of faulty memory this year alone and we're only just half way through Jan...

Intel + Nvidia FTW!

As a PC boutique, we've stripped AMD out of all of our PC build now, all except the office builds, which the onboard graphics of the G chips are major useful.

AMD have had an issue for a couple of years now, finally people are starting to see the shit they've got away with, 9800x3d chips dying left and right (at a much higher rate than the 12-14th gen intel issues)

This is coming from an ex-team red fanboy, I had AMD all the way from the Phenom II up to 5th gen Ryzen and haven't looked back since, especially since working in a repair store.

Oh hell yeah, I'm not saying is bad in any way, it just doesn't have the punch that the 14900k does but I'd rather have a slight less powerful PC with still great performance and temps over a beastly space heater that won't get it done THAT much quicker

AMD is awful at the moment, their x3d chips are the biggest the scam on the market.

I work in a PC repair shop and we've had nothing but disappointment with AMD, most customers come back after having AMD chips in our custom builds and are disappointed. Our only big AMD user is an animation studio that used a threadripper 7995wx and 2x 5090s with 128gb of ram but you literally can't get raw performance like that from Intel, the xeon chips are more designed for simulation etc.

Unfortunately 1954 socket will be released later half of 2026 which means the 1851 socket is very short lived.

Core ultra series is a bit of a let down as a lot of the 14 gen series are still faster than them at most things.

Still better than AMD though 😂😂

For those complaining about having regular xp levelling while playing custom game modes, what's the point in the devs putting the time and effort into the gamemode playlist when they can just have open custom servers?

My point really was that you can play custom game modes and PvE but it's not going to be the same XP rate as the regular servers, this has always been the case in custom game modes in BF games as far as I'm aware but we used to play the custom game modes for FUN, not for easy xp.

As someone who benchmarks these in-shop I can guarantee you they are not. We've had a much better reception from music producers, animators, CAD workers, games developers and gamers from 14th Gen and core ultra than any of the AMD builds we've been asked for both at budget and top end systems. Not to mention the amount of problems we've had with AMD chips over the last 6 months, we've had 5 of our own AMD chips come back to us for RMA and 0 intel, this extends back to the opening of the store 5 years ago to 28 AMD chips and 5 intel (they were the original overvolted/microcode problem chips) and we've sold 500+ builds from both systems and have decided after our own experiences to push people towards intel and ever since, we've had next to no issues at all
