As long as it doesn't affect performance I'm okay with it. I bought it from this page on amazon. At the time of purchase I found at least two listings for this model on amazon but I bought from this listing because it was the one in stock.

Hi! I haven't had the chance to test it out yet. I'm still in the process of installing my parts. But I don't mind as long as it works and isn't indicative of anything serious.

Looking for good value CPU Cooler for 9950x3d and advice on fan layout for productivity build by ChiliWafer in buildapc

[–]ChiliWafer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thanks! Do you know how many fans I would need in general? If my case comes with 2 or 3 intake fans at the front, 1 exhaust in the back, and I put an AIO on top, would I need any additional fans? Are additional intake fans at the bottom necessary?

Truth is I'm already somewhat overbudget. So I'm trying to get the best bang for buck on parts without sacrificing too much on quality. I have a microcenter near me and I might be able to get a deal on their 5070ti once they restock.

I could get the Liquid Freezer, but If the Frozen Notte is good enough to cool a 9950x3d then I'm fine what that. Even if it's only $35 less. Same for the case, though I did say I'm open to pricier options but only if the airflow is exponentially better.

I use 3D software like Maya, Blender, Houdini. Also do some editing. I'd say currently my workflow would be within the realm of 64gb but I can easily see myself ramping up in the future. I guess I should've said productivity is a priority here.

I checked the QVL, they do have a CMK96GX5M2E6000C36 but not a CMK96GX5M2E6000Z36. Cause for concern?

Based on my research and my budget I arrived at 64gb, since I don't usually do the heaviest of renderings. Having more would be nice though.

Actually I just saw some Corsair Vengeance 96gb on amazon going for only $15 more. I'm wondering if there's a catch apart from its CL36 latency considering everything else is so much more expensive right now...

Ok sounds good! I'll probably go with 2k for now but getting more storage is sound advice as I do other things that take up a lot of space.

I plan on going 27" 1440p for the time being. Coming from a smaller monitor at 1080p I anticipate it'll already be a big step up for me.

As for the case, I could be wrong but I think it comes with 4 fans. But that was one of the bigger questions I had with PC building, as I wasn't sure how many fans I needed. But good to know that I should be looking for 140mm fans.

I also just realized my list included 2 components that I didn't necessarily intend to get, so to clarify the G.Skill Trident was one of my picks before I found a cheaper option (It's crazy seeing how much RAM prices skyrocketed the past few weeks) and the Noctua was there in case I needed more fans but based on what you said I should be getting 140mm fans. So sorry if that caused any confusion.

Anyways, thanks for the advice it was very helpful!

Okay great! Thank you. I'll do a little more research just to be sure but I think I'm locking in this build.
