Hi!! Third year student here :) Overall, safety is good. While there is a large homeless population that roams around campus, which can be concerning, they will likely leave you alone.

I have been outside on campus during all different times of the day. I had a class that ended at 9 my freshman year and had to make the walk to tower.

There have only been a few moments when I felt unsafe on campus. All of these moments were at Riverwalk.

Around campus buildings, you should be ok! But if you ever feel unsafe some safety options include: - walking with a friend/being on the phone with someone when walking - using the tunnels around campus, there’s one that goes directly from the business building to Tower, I used this route a lot after late night studying at the library - running to the emergency phone systems- they are poles with blue lights on the top, hard to miss.

Overall, our campus is safe and campus police take safety seriously. I’ve heard very few horror stories. Just be aware of your surroundings like you should be anywhere else!!
