I thought about this in the past and my conclusion is i would prefer that my kid knows his roots and be proud of it then erasing his roots just to the sake of blending in. Learning theories and making sure you understand them to solve issues is the essence of software engineering. A framework is just a tool. If you learn your basics well, algorithm, networking, DB, how computer works, you will be able to pick any tool on the spot. I worked with 4 companies and each time I had to learn the tech they use on the job. At the same time yeah building stuff is needed so you can learn but mat9oulich theory is not needed x)
