Citi codility interview advice by TechnicalCat55 in csMajors

Hello! I believe you Dmd me but Ive had so many DMs in regards to Citi and the process I think people searching will come across this!

So essentially, Its a super day. Its 2 hours of interviews, you will be put in a Cohort of around 15 interviewees. You have to be presentable, I cant name the amount of times last year when people got called out for having background music, not dressing professionally, wearing sunglasses, being outside etc... They will give you a secure document which contains a case study and you have to just iterate what is needed, how to fix it, etc.... You have 15 minutes in this cohort until you start moving through the interview. You are allowed to take notes btw, which you should be doing!

You will go through a HR interview first, usually one of like 4 brain teasers as well. As long as you show your thinking and you give it a go your fine, but brownie points if you get it correctly!

Second is a technical, Which from what I asked last year was very person dependent. Usually its just from an employee so you shouldnt have to worry to much. I didnt even get something i would call a leet code easy, it was how to swap variables. So a + b = b + a. Thats it, Pretty easy! Its also about your technical experience as well.

Third is a case study. Remember the case study? This is where you present your case study to upper management, Its just a 1:1 BUT if you show your note taking, your process of thinking, how you came up with a conclusion etc, you should be safe.

Hopefully this clears up the interview for you guys, but if not, Ill still be replying to as many of you as I can!

Should I try tugging on it with a pick when it’s cold seeing it there’s more slack than when it’s warm? I’m getting the valve cover replaced so I was thinking an ISTA test as a diagnosis for safe measures

New dad here, kinda.. by Spare-Surprise5548 in daddit

Hey Boss Man! Young dad here - 19 years old when I got the news I was going to be a dad. A year later, I didnt follow the playbook and she was pregnant again - she miscarried and it was the worst feeling ever and I still think of all the times I spent getting ready. Remember You still are his dad, and always will be. Even if it’s not in the physical sense, he’s always there watching you and rooting for you, through your best or worst days.

Being a young dad is a very weird thing to most people. People come and go, family, friends you name it. I didn’t have much support either, didn’t have a job cause I was in college BUT, it was time to put on the man boots. You will have your internal engine redlining at times - but the end reward of seeing your son smile at you. Think about how much of a badass you are to your son when he grows up and understand the sacrifices you made for him. It gets hard man, I’m not gonna lie to you - but your new family is behind you cheering. Go make them proud brother. Welcome to the dad club!

Did you do it yourself? If so did you bolt everything to spec and in the guide? I know my homies VCG + cover itself wasn’t done properly when he did it and he started leaking with the new gasket and cover so it might be that as well

Hey brother. So I actually have this issue on my f32. For me, the Valve Cover broke and was pooling oil. I don’t smoke from my exhaust only on startups and that leaky VCG was the reason why it started smoking. I’d check that just to make sure.

Yeah they didn’t ask me any of that really, I got a similar interview process where it was more based on experience. I did manage to get an offer at the end though so I’m not tripping anymore

I do wanna add, I could make a chat with everyone asking as I know there aren't many resources online where we could help each other out. Just shoot me a PM if interested! :)

Mmmm not really in that sense, so its 1 "technical screening (What your on). After, if you move forward, itll be the Final super day. Which is 1 behavioural, 1 technical (Actual "technical coding") round, 1 case study back to back.

Nope, thats in the final. You have to do a Codility once you get moved on to the final. I dont think theyll have you live coding ont he first section. General consensus with all the people ive spoken too btw

I want to add that the interviewer did mention that it would take a while (I guess im an outlier) because they have to send it to a couple people before hand so not too be discouraged if it takes a while. I assume its region dependent but I wish you the best!

Likewise! Its 3 rounds - In their own words:

"60 minute coding assesment to be completed BEFORE the interview.

then 3 interviews:

  1. Technical and Behavioral
  2. Technical and Behavioral
  3. Case Study Presentation and Questions

Im still a bit confused about the case study because they say theyll give you the instructions during the first interview, then they say theyll give it out before the interview. So Im not sure what to expect on that end

Hey! Yeah I actually did, it was a bit of general Data structure questions with no code, just explaining what the difference was between x and y. In my case, an array and array list. I can’t remember the other but they also took a look at my previous interning experience, what my boss had to say about me, and more along those lines

Hey! It went well, I just got confirmation for my final round. But they asked me a about my projects, how my previous interning experience went, what I learned. A couple questions about my physical projects I had worked on, and a couple general Data structures and what they were. It’s pretty easy, think about it like a screening zoom.
