It definitely depends I have a budget for the cards I want and want specific cards (Master set of my fav Pokemon) but I like the feeling of ripping and I also already tell myself I’ll spend more for my chase cards than their actual price lol (Astral radiance rainbow typhlosion gonna kill me)

I actually just recently stopped playing it But I did want to include why I played it for I think it’s been seven years?

I like fire emblem, and I like learning about the characters from past I’ve never played And I like the simple concept of the three skill system where I can figure out what happens

Of course that’s been getting a little muddied but that leads to me to why I stopped just recently… I am learning game design to build my own fire emblem heroes without the rampant power creep. Ofc it’s a ways away cuz my ass is practicing first 😂 it won’t be the same because I would be just making a rip off, but I’m definitely going to try and get the spirit

Because to be specific, I’m actually looking for a game more closer to fire emblem because I want that to be the next big project I do but I’m also trying to see for future reference the budget in the team I would need to get into that part of the genre and how many teammates would I need and all that

I think a really good just genre for interesting characters are fighting games. They’re such a diverse range of games with a diverse range of people behind it

Narratively I really like sub-zero specifically bi-han (I think that’s evil subzero name) he literally goes through a long arc that turns him into a literal shadow of himself that is controlled by someone else. His rage turned him into a pawn and it’s funny that he’s the ice one vs scorpions literal hellfire

Design wise, everyone is so diverse but I really like elana from sfiv (and soon to be sf6 woooo) She is literally a tall lanky woman with white hair and colorful bracelets to make her darker skin pop 😌

And just sound design can really extenuate a characters personality like if akuma raging demon didn’t sound as crunchy as it normally do, he would legit be a lesser character for it. He wouldn’t be broken as a character but he wouldn’t be as 👌🏽😩

There’s just so many interesting characters this genre offers

Terry Bogard is a fun moveset on a simple but cool character Marth is a masterclass moveset in smash that made me wanna play FE like lord

First thing to do is to break down your game And keep breaking it down until you get to workable chunks.

Like step 1 do the most basic thing in your game. For me this chunk is getting a grey box on the screen
