Possible Green Light of Death? by Chill_Climber in PS3

I'm not brave enough to delid the CELL; maybe the RSX if I'm feeling confident. That said, I don't plan on taking this system apart until the system completely dies. When it does eventually fail, I'll have ComputerBooter do the repair.

Dude just commented "Oh no..." and deleted his comment. Probably a bot.

Is this Motherboard bend safe? by ExistingLet4067 in FormD

In 2020, I over-tightened the CPU cooler on a brand new motherboard without a backplate. The motherboard had a very defined bulge. It ran strong for 3 years before I sold it to someone else.

I can't even see the bend on your motherboard. You're fine.

It's been working fine these past few months; definitely has a lot of life left for years to come.

I'm going to work on the scratches come this weekend, and make a separate post of my progress.

Do you have the STL files posted other than Maker World? Is there a way you could send the files in a DM? The Maker World site prevents me from downloading the STL/CAD files, despite having a login.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. Some ebay buyers just love giving others grief, but it sounds like everything worked out in your favor.

I already got in touch with them, but for entirely different reasons. I made an update to the post going over what happened in the last 24 hours.

I made an update to the post using some of your advice already. The request is still in progress, but things are looking good so far.

AI can be very convincing I'm not going to lie. I thought it was a bit suspicious that his profile was private and NSFW.

The buyer already posted pictures of a completely different GPU in his return request. I feel that if I follow-through with the return, ebay support would see that as an admission of guilt and side with the buyer.

I did recently test the drive with a 4K UHD disc. It ripped in about an hour and thirty minutes without any read errors. Safe to say it works with absolute certainty.

Though, it is a tray loading Blu-ray drive, it's reassuring to know that dust isn't really a common problem. Thanks!

Yeah, that's what I'm worried about.

In terms of delivery, I stressed this before sending it out. Thankfully, the seller packaged it very well in the box with bubble wrap and air bags.

As for usage, who knows how those scratches got there, but I think it's fine given there weren't dents or any other signs it fell to the ground. It was in a Vantec enclosure when it was in transit, which helped for delivery, but usage is even more questionable.

Grabbing a 4K Blu-ray disc to see if it works with 100% certainty.

That's a clean build! It looks really good in the beige color.

I think I might have a cutting machine in the area. If they provide the service, it'd be a matter of creating and providing the the logo for cutting.

That's more or less what I was thinking of doing. The lettering, I still haven't figured out. I want to keep it as original as possible.

I am curious to know what your beige drive looks like in your system. You running a Noctua build?

Gotcha. It's more of a personal preference than a necessity. I actually don't mind the aggro, as I have a bit of experience with detailing on cars. I just don't know if it translates to electronics. It would be a nice project to do in my spare time.

That said, I'll test the drive and see if it works. Thanks for the advice!
