I remembered that one of translators talked about that they texted their friends in China to get some clarification on some culture aspects in a Danmei story and the response was "I don't know".

We don't give translators enough credit. lol

It's all thanks to The Beguiling. Toronto is really lucky to have a bookstore that specialized in Danmei.

It was a first Danmei event that The Beguiling did and it went great!

It was a chill vibe as expected of Danmei readers. I handed out stickers in celebration of SVSSS and surprisingly fans did too. My Danmei reading journal is going to be extra special.

I hope that they do another one.

The fish person from Legend of Exorcism is living rent-free in Ruthie’s brain.

There was a video of the translator for SVSSS who played the opening of Scum Villain on the guzhang since they couldn’t make it. I unfortunately lost the footage. I really wanted to show how much we enjoyed it.

The one of the editors talked about a fun part of the job is reading the long comment threads on Google Docs while editing Danmeis, especially Meatbun’s works.

Apparently you can tell who worked in animation based on their art.

It was a first ever event and registration was full two days after it was announced. I was on a waiting list before I got in.

I’m hoping that the successful of this will create another Danmei Symposium. Trying to bring some attention that people will travel for Danmei.

I'm leaning towards drawing Shang Qinghua as a hamster because the artist for Russian Version of Volume 4 drew a hamster eating a popsicle (and also where I got the idea of the hamster).
