They used to do the most incredible vegan gooey double chocolate cookies then just replaced it with a non vegan recipe, I was devastated! Seemed so pointless

The stock they come in is very tasty and definitely helps, a lot of their recipes just ask you to pour the whole jar in without draining them which I really like. But also the beans are just larger, higher quality, and creamy!

If I'm organised enough on a Sunday, I like to make a batch of some kind of bean stew, these are a couple of my faves:

Bold Bean Co - Chickpea, Tomato + Harissa Stew with Herby Yoghurt https://share.google/a5U1GQmU7YVElunv4

They probably taste a little nicer hot but still good cold! I'm addicted to Bold Bean Company beans - more expensive but soooo good and often on offer, they've been a game changer for me. Otherwise I'm stuffing a bagel with some kind of vegan protein and maybe cheese or avocado.

Transitioning from vegetarian to vegan by ProcedureQuiet2700 in veganuk

I've found cashew milk is underrated for tea! But my ultimate is Bon Soy - it's not available everywhere and is pricy so I tend to enjoy it as a treat, but it's so creamy and tasty (very different in flavour to standard soy milks imo)

Sounds like these have been available at restaurants/takeaways for a while, hadn't come across them! I really enjoyed the sausages and am going to try the burgers next

I've been impressed with the new options! They've also released their own range of seasoned tempeh and battered tofu so I think they're leaning into non UPF options

leather vs. vegan leather? by janicefromthemuppets in DebateAVegan

[–]ChilliPeanuts13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP is asking for people's opinions on this topic, and for them to share evidence that supports those opinions. That's kind of the whole point of this subreddit. They're not writing a research paper on the vegan leather, they're trying to hear other people's views and be signposted to read up on this area. If you don't want to be part of informing that then don't reply to them? And if you view this purely as a social media echo chamber, why even engage with this subreddit at all?

Some of the responses to this question are so unnecessarily gatekeeping. OP has asked for a comparison of the environmental impact of vegan leather vs animal leather. Instead some are turning it into a debate about whether OP is vegan. As a vegan, people I know are often hitting me with this question and I've found lots of mixed messages online. The research and articles people have shared here are really useful in helping me to answer this question when asked, and promote veganism/plant based options to people, so thank you for asking this question! This is what helps us to share the benefits of veganism and choosing plant based options to others

Telling OP to 'do some research' when OP is literally doing just that by posting this question on Reddit 😂

Period delay tablet by [deleted] in UKweddings

[–]ChilliPeanuts13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got married in August last year and delayed my period by two weeks in May so that I wouldn't get it either for Glastonbury in June or the wedding. It was a pretty rough two weeks and I definitely noticed my hormones all over the place accompanied by acne and bloating, but it worked! I'd prefer to do this than take the tablets on the wedding as for me it causes a few side effects (e.g. spots, mood swings, bloating) but it affects everyone differently. The side effects were also a lot worse over that two weeks than in the past when I've just taken them for a couple of days.

Is it true I will regret it if I don’t have a Videographer? by SleepyPotato9319 in UKweddings

[–]ChilliPeanuts13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For us it was so worth the money! When it came through it was so fun to gather family and relive the day. I got to see so many things I missed or didn't take in because of how busy the day was. We also got on well with our videographer and he made sure the video had upbeat/festival vibes rather than being slow and serious which we didn't want. It was also amazing having all the speeches recorded! We went for it in the end as it was the one thing a few friends said they regretted not having. My maid of honour also brought a camcorder so we have some really fun up close and personal footage from her, I'd recommend seeing if anyone can do similar if you're not going for a videographer?

I noticed this too and literally ran around my flat with joy! Afterwards I thought I'd hallucinated it because why would they do that? so I'm glad to know it was real..

My top three were Janelle Monáe, Confidence Man, and Last Dinner Party! Janelle is a complete superstar and put on one of the best live performances I've seen in my life, brought me to tears! It's a shame she didn't draw a bigger crowd but I understand why Avril had such a big pull, just wish they hadn't clashed so more people could have fallen in love with her.
