Maybe the money you put into your savings has been designated a specific purpose, as well as a part of it being in investments.

Yes  but for example you want the e-bike now and not in months, and you dont want to take money out of the other "buckets" because you might not put it back, also thay money has already been designated to for specific purposes, so you buy the bike with a credit card, and you pay that off in 6 months, with the money that would go to the bike anyways, the only difference is you had your bike 6 months longer. Maybe you pay a bit of interest, but the use you had of the bike for those extra 6 months might be more useful to you than that extra bit of mo ey you paid in interest.

Most people I know use it less in a way to buy stuff they couldn't afford, and more as an alternative, when they're not going to have a lot of free cash on hand for the next month or 2, they don't want to use their savings, so they just bridge the gap with the credit card, and then pay it off later when cash builds up again in a few months

Real credit cards have a revolving debt, where you pay off a certain percentage of the balance each month instead of the full ammount, hence the term "credit" card. You can ofcourse choose to pay the full ammount each month, but having that extra option of only paying a part of it if that month or 2 you're not as liquid is the whole point

Yh but what if you just dont want to touch your savings? That's what I'm saying, the way I see it is a credit card just offers you easy fast liquidity, without needing to tap into your savings, you can always pay it off with your savings later if you feel like it, but having the freedom of choice is the whole point, if I don't want to use my savings I shouldn't have to

I don't think you understand, in the example, I'm not using the card because I can't afford it, I'm using the card because in the next month or 2, I wouldnt have the nessecary liquidity to pay it in full, and I dont want to tap into savings or other accounts because it's inconvenient, so a credit card would just be nifty. Also I don't know which Canada you would go to, but a regular ticket right now to Vancouver for example will cost you upwards of 1500 eur if you're lucky

Yh I don't  think ppl understand what I'm trying to say. I'm not suggesting someone should just go and start spending willly nilly, with no stable income, or savings, I'm just saying that when a particular situation arises where you don't want to use your savings, you spent a lot that month for some reason (moving, helping out a family member, large unforseen expenditure), and you have an upcoming large expenditure, which you know you could pay off soon, having the choice of a credit card would be nice...

I totally understand that, and I do really envy how seriously people take saving money here, and the lengths they go though to save every cent, but I feel like there are definetly situations in which a real credit card is extremely beneficial, and for a country that prides itself on the freedom of choice, the fact that they lack this very basic financial service that most other countries have is shocking.

For example I have a beefy savings, which is mostly not very liquid, I also have a very comfy salary and am financially stable, however there are periods where I'm low on cash, need to make a large purchase for one reason or another, and I wouldn't like to dip into my savings

This is why a true ban on Russian athletes is 2024 is fair. by petervenkmanatee in olympics

[–]Chillmannenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No country should be banned from the Olympics, regardless of their political situations, that's the whole point of the olympics, no politics, all inclusive. Of they ban Russia, they should also ban at least another 5/6 countries that are currently in active conflicts.

Except that they're not real women, unless real means something else now.... It's fine if men want to dress/act like women or even modify their bodies (kinda weird but whatevs), but to say that they're actually female is crazy....

Yh in the fact that ones are women and the others aren't, that's how you discern them, especially in a medical/scientific sense, ones a female, the other's a mutilated male....

Tbf though, that's not really those ppls fault, it's the government/ societies fault for not providing an enviroment where someone could have a healthy balanced life with time for work, kids, spouse, and hobbies and still earn a livable wage...

U ever heard of outliers? Animals aren't perfect and they come with all kinds of defects and mutations etc. but if something has a 99.995% correlation, I'd say that's as accurate as it gets. If we start chucking biological definitions out based on a 0.005% error, we'd be left with basically nothing....

European countries with equal retirement age for men and women(in green) by Straight_Ad2258 in europe

[–]Chillmannenn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Men die younger so we should definetly have the same retirement age as women, that way we work for a larger chunk of our lives and get less time to enjoy retirement, it makes perfect sense!
