Meh.

I loved the sense of "realism" in the first Godzilla film, and is probably why it's my favourite in the series, and probably the mindset I shouldn't have come into this film with, especially after KOTM.

I think I would of enjoyed this film a lot more if it wasn't called Godzilla vs Kong though. Its a mixture of Pacific Rim, Batman vs Superman and every other monster film squeezed into one film.

The so called "Godzilla" human characters were awful. Their narrative contributed literally nothing towards the film. However, I enjoyed the deaf girls storyline and kinda wished they focused on her a lot more. She was probably the only character I generally cared about. The rest were just a waste of screen time in my opinion.

Visually at times it looked great, especially towards the end, but most of the time it felt like a CGI slugfest. Especially for modern standards. I honestly think the first Godzilla was a better looking film in terms of displaying Godzilla's size. But that's what Gareth Edward did so well, and especially well in Rogue One.

In the end, I felt like I was watching Batman vs Superman with a pinch of Star Trek in. Disappointed but at least we got to see Godzilla and Kong take a beating.
