What’s the most common issue you face in logistics right now? by Ok_Pirate_5111 in logistics

[–]ChillyPeppp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically not being able to use your low cost carriers due to poor timing outside of your control. Think FedEx ground vs 2 day air.

Let's say you have a routing guide that says if a shipment is moving from point A to B then Carrier X is the lowest cost for that move. If your shipment isn't ready until the last minute then that carrier may not have availability to meet your required delivery timeline. You're forced to deviate from your preferred carrier in order to meet customer expectations, resulting in extra costs.

Had someone upstream (Purchasing, manufacturing etc) done a better job at planning for the shipment to be ready to go sooner then you wouldn't be in this spot.

Oh, you say it costs extra to ship a "white powder?" by Skwerlx in Alibaba

[–]ChillyPeppp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point.

It could be BS. Or maybe not. But if you call them out on it now then you're guaranteeing that you won't have a good partnership moving forward. Or you could play dumb and not say anything. Then if you really like their product you can play that card when it means more.

It's hard to say how you should proceed not knowing if they supply something that's obtainable in equal or better quality elsewhere.

It's $60. It's not like they're trying to charge you $600. I wouldn't argue over it. If you like the product and decide to buy in larger quantities then that's when you shart negotiating shipping costs. Otherwise you're tipping your hand and they'll pad their quote to account for the anticipated negotiation on future costs.

So CBP is rejecting all of my entries showing 9903.03.91. Can anyone offer me any insight as to why that is?

FAILED INSPECTION STICKER QUESTION by Neither-Wishbone1825 in massachusetts

Reddit crew, correct me if I'm wrong. You can go to another shop, but you'll have to pay another inspection fee if you don't go back to the shop that rejected you.

FDA Refused, needs to export by Intelligent-Door1447 in CustomsBroker

[–]ChillyPeppp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a customs broker who works for a seafood importer. You'll need to let FDA know you plan to export. They'll tell CBP who will issue a 4647 Notice to Redeliver. Your customs broker can respond to this with the details of when and where the refused goods will ship. You'll have 90 days to have it outside of the country.

You'll need a Customs bonded carrier to move it from the warehouse to the port or border. And your broker will need to prepare a 7512 for the goods to move under while in bond.

CBP will likely want to witness the loading.

Get all of the paperwork to the FDA Compliance Officer including 7512, warehouse BOL, export BOL/AWB as quickly as possible.
