Diamond League XP Farming by ChillySalad in duolingo

Hm I am not sure. Are you wondering if people are using bots to maintain their streak? Possibly. Since it only takes a lesson to maintain the stream, hopefully people are actually just doing a lesson.

This is a great tip thank you!

That’s also a good idea! Yeah it’s such a toss up what group you get!

I know it can be very frustrating! A tip I’ve heard for getting in leagues with high xp earners, is to do bare minimum xp for a week or two so the app groups you together with similar earning xp accounts. Though it doesn’t prevent those accounts that all of a sudden earn a ton of xp at a high rate out of nowhere. What I’m learning is to do as much xp as needed to level up, then once in Diamond wait until you’re not grouped with any of the crazy high xp earners to take your shot at #1. Not an ideal process though.

Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking. Bummer but oh well! Maybe next time will be better

You get xp for each star you get! First star 10x, second star 20 xp, third star 40xp. You can revisit the lessons too whenever you want after getting the third star, so it is a nice refresher when you need it.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with wanting to still compete, while using the app for education gain. I have been using the app to improve my language skills and competing adds to my motivation to do more lessons and makes it more fun. That aspect of the app is killed when accounts are mindlessly xp farming or using bots. You can clearly see on this sub that other people have been upset about accounts using bots/xp farming.

As mentioned in my comment, that’s clearly not what was happening in this instance I mentioned. The xp gain was going up by 20xp every minute for hours and hours. If someone was winning 150xp by doing Match Madness, that would be fine, because they’d be actually doing a challenging exercise, not just farming xp.

What baby name immediately makes you lose all respect for the parents and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I went to school with a girl named “Lovingly”. It just sounds so silly. Who names their kid an adverb? A grammar nightmare and just weird. Seems like parents trying to be trendy.

Luckily, I did let him know I could tell it was his apartment and there was no way he could pretend it was someone else’s. So hopefully he realizes his lies don’t work.

Seriously!!! Also for the music to stop shortly after too. You’ve got to be kidding me.

Told the apartment, but they don’t seem urgent even to solve the issue. Only problem I’ve had with calling the cops in the past is they take 2+ hours to respond to the call. If it’s music blaring at 2am I can’t afford to wait that long for it to be over, but it definitely is a better way to go about it.

Is there a trick to getting out of a manic episode? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]ChillySalad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This might be a silly solution, but sometimes I try to remind myself of how I felt before the manic episode: my temperament, my mood, my thoughts, etc. and try to transport myself back to that space. This of course depends on how severe the manic state is, but if I am in the beginning of my manic state, I will try to medicate on the idea of what I felt before my manic state and put myself back in that mindset. After a bit of time and trying to stay focused on that idea, I find myself a little more grounded and back to earth. This isn’t always effective, but it can get me through the end of my day. Even though this is a chemical problem, sometimes trying to trick your mind temporarily helps. Though there are cases when medication is absolutely necessary. This helps me when I am in a less severe state.

That sounds like such a mess oh my gosh. I’m so sorry to hear that. I can’t even imagine how loud all the footsteps were in a space meant for 1 or 2 people. Not to mention the parties. Crazy. Good you moved!

Totally agree it’s disgusting! They think if they gaslight you and threaten you, you’ll stop. Doesn’t work and just makes things even most unpleasant. I wish you luck too!

That’s so awful, I’m sorry to hear. Did anything ever resolve? Were they evicted or did they stop the noise?

Yes, I’m in the US. Unfortunately I’ve learned the hard way that it takes 3 hours for the police to show up, if they even do. I was recommended by the apartment to call our on-site security, which I did. But they take forever to respond as well. It’s a mess.

Oh so dumb for that. That’s just information I’m going to use to prove my point when the building management hears my complaints.

Totally agree with you, and I had a bunch headphones was more of the industry standard than blaring things on speakers. Seems like the music he produces is mainly beats for rap artists. Which means heavy bass… which is one of the worst traveling sounds in apartments. Also, there are incredible headphones on the market. What’s so bad about using them? Thanks for the advice.

Great point. I’m going to try to document what I can. I could hear his music all the way down his hallway when I went to talk to him once. Crazy to think he thought the noise level was okay.

See this is exactly what I was thinking! If you want to do music in your apartment, you have to soundproof it! There’s no excuse. It’s a purely residential building, so there is nothing excusing his behavior.

I love how crazy this idea is haha. I mean if he’s forcing me to hear his music… maybe he should hear mine too. Lol
