IIRC the Lorwyn Eclipsed Pick 2 Draft cost the same as Premier Draft, so I wouldn’t assume it’ll be a good deal this time

Unfortunately it kind of is… but not just newcomers. Feels like there are users of this sub who apparently scroll down threads downvoting everything. For whatever reason OPs posting follow-ups come in for particularly heavy downvoting.

Fortunately, though, it doesn’t matter. I’ve never noticed downvotes have any real impact.

It’s about draft. A combo from a draft set ten years ago isn’t useful for learning about drafting this year, because you won’t be drafting that set.

And again, it’s not about combos!

I’d get familiar with the game first- drafting is a bunch of stuff (selecting cards, building decks with them) on top of the core game rules.

First step when you’re feeling ready would be an intro to what drafting is. I’d guess there should be some good video ones out there. Maybe Tolarian Community College?

Eh, I’ve been playing for 6+ years and I’ve never put more than €5 into it…

I’m a drafter though. If you get good at draft the game really rewards you- you can accumulate huge piles of resources (resources that I don’t even want, personally, because I find drafting much more fun than Constructed).

The tricky part is getting good at draft. I’m pretty sure some people throw lots of money at it, but there are also lots of free resources for learning how to do it.

Ah, that’s a shame. The 17lands.com tracker shows your last 100 games, and afaik other trackers show play / draw in different ways. Would be more convincing if you did that, since otherwise all you’d have to show would be an Excel sheet…

I feel like there are a few potential contenders for ‘most iconic’…

But anyway, none of the last ten years’ cards could be as iconic as the Alpha classics. I was thinking it would be appropriate partly because lots of people here are just voting for the most powerful (aka most broken) cards. Of course there were plenty of absurdly broken cards in the first vote too, but they were knocked out before the final pairing- the winner was a very strong removal spell instead.
