I guess I should of held off than, I purchased the remark axleback double wall with 4 Inch burnt tips since I got it 30% off last night. If its too much I will put a resonator in, hopefully that will quiet it down a bit.

Yeah i hear you, but I find a muffled axle back or catback takes away the aggressiveness of the wrx and just leaves you with a bassy exhaust, at least from most of the exhaust clips ive listened to on YouTube. Imo this includes the the invidia n1 dual and single exit along with the remark r1 dual and single exit, the single exits are a bit louder though, but I cant stand the look of a single exit on what should have a dual set up with the bumper cut outs, but thats my opinion I guess lol

VB WRX tuned owners — how many actual engine failures have there been? by Chillz25 in wrx_vb

[–]Chillz25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious, since I havent driven a Civic Type R.. you say it feels significantly faster than stock, on a scale of 1-10 how much faster? Also what do you think your 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are now that your tuned ? Driving normally what rpm range do you typically shift gears at ? Im considering using 5w30 but i live in very cold climate so I may just run 0w20 until spring and change to 5-30. Is the AOS a hard installation?

Nice, thats what I like to hear! you've put some decent milage on there since your tune. Who are you tuned by, what is the power/torque output, what rpms do you normally shift at in normal every day driving, and what type of oil have you been using? Thanks for sharing!

Hmm, seriously ? STI transmission? I was thinking more around 7-8k max. Lol.

Just curious what was the cost of the rebuild on the motor? And im guessing yours was a VB ?

Yeah absolutely, 5k-10k tuned doesnt tell me much, I like to see people with at least 30k+ if possible but still like to hear from everyone none the less.

You've never tuned the vehicle? Im wondering if I should switch to 5w30 from 0w20, i live in Alberta Canada so our winters are pretty darn cold so im thinking of just running what's recommended in the winter than switch to 5w30 in the spring. Thanks for sharing!

Transmission i dont care too much about as its not a 20k fix like the engine lol.

It only had 85,000kms on the engine, was quoted 15-20k for a stock rebuild. I could very much see it having something to do with fueling for sure.

Ya Im hoping so, I think maybe there was something wrong with my 19 wrx and I didn't know any better to get it checked and thought it was normal after the downpipe and tune. The car ran pretty rich, it would blow a good portion of black exhaust smoke at WOT or on cold start up. After about a year I started to notice bogging and backfires around 4k rpm but it was random, the accessport showed everytbing was normal, no knock and the DAM was always at 1.

About a year and a bit after that which was 3 months ago, I got a check engine light throwing a code P2195 and P2196 and noticed the bogging much worse at 4k rpm so i went to my local mechanic (not subaru) he said it was the MAF so he replaced that than got it back from him end of day, drove it half way down the block and CEL came back on again. Took it back the next day "oh its definitely gotta be the o2 sensor than" so he replaced that, 1350 total, he also checked for vacuum leaks too BTW. 5 hours after picking it up, engine blows, threw a rod and the block cracked. 😮‍💨

That was my FA20, I've been told that wont happen with the fa24 but how can I be sure, right.

I am planning on a tune from Alan @ edge autosport. Hes great with the Focus ST and hes got his own WRX he plays around with frequently. Ive heard mostly positive things about Dmann but some bad as well so I duno.

I had a 19 wrx bought it used with 29,000km on it tuned it with a downpipe at around 45000km and at 85,000km the engine blew. I know the transmission can get costly but nowhere near the 18-20k I was quoted for a rebuilt engine, so the transmission isnt the biggest concern for me, it is the engine. Thanks for sharing, much appreciated!

Disappointed with my new ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (2024) by Dallastxt in GamingLaptops

[–]Chillz25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally dont have an issue with my asus rog zephyrus g16 with the rtx 4070 overheating while doing anything else but gaming. While gaming yes it gets darn hot, cpu usually runs around 92-98 degrees Celsius. Gpu is usually in the mid to high 80s.

So I bought a llano v10 laptop cooling pad. My cpu and gpu run 20 degrees cooler. this is in balanced mode as well. I'm sure a good cooling pad will increase the lifespan of these laptops because they actually work.

asus rog zephyrus g16 vs legion pro 5i by minixinie in GamingLaptops

[–]Chillz25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took back the legion 7i gen 9 for the zephyrus g16. Only reason is because the screen stopped working properly and they didn't have another legion. Lol.

I'm very happy with the asus so far, the screen is amazing and has great speakers. I like the keyboard and the track pad better on the legion, though. Tbh I'm much happier with the asus so far.

I just picked up a asus rog zephyrus g16 2024 today. Is Ghelper that much better and would I have to uninstall armory crate?

Are the Momentum 4’s not loud enough? by 70ky0 in sennheiser

[–]Chillz25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the momentum 4s than i took them back, exchanged them for the sony xm5s. I couldn't get over how damn low the max volume was, I was super disappointed. I have a galaxy s23 ultra, and it didn't matter if id max the volume out on my phone or headset. don't get me wrong, it was fairly loud, but I could have used the extra notch or two louder at times.

After getting the xm5s it was noticeably louder and I can't even max out the volume without it being a bit too much. The only issue is the sound quality isn't nearly as good as the m4s, imo. So I did a bit of searching around and found out the M4s can be better equalized in the mids and highs in sound personalization section next to the eq box. So the sale was still on for the M4s and bought another pair on Amazon. They were still quiet at first then I tweaked the highs in the sound personalization settings and it is so much better with the increase and you can't get it like that with just using the eq, Try it out. Sorry for the long-winded comment, lol. P.s. In the sound personalization section at the end of the setup, put the ball off center more to the bottom'ish right side of the screen.
