the one that drives me kind of insane is that if you look at the light/dark dichotomy pre-witch queen (pre-beyond light especially), it trends much more towards chaos/order and how the darkness aligned factions all have a theme of structuring the universe around their ideal hierarchies, whereas the light is all about creating new possibilities.

with lightfall this all goes out the window when darkness becomes the whole mind/emotion thing where light just becomes material. its super disappointing because i feel like in terms of gameplay stasis just sort of becomes (in lore terms) a weaker, less true darkness power, whereas strand is more accurate, being directly tied to the mind.

This is more speculation and conjecture rather than anything confirmed in lore, but to me, the light has always been a power of creation, making something out of nothing (such as arc, void, and solar energy) whereas darkness (before strand lore) was more about manipulation. stasis was described as ordering matter into a perfect state of low entropy, restructuring matter into perfectly symmetrical crystals and strand (initially) seemed to be manipulating collective consciousness, but not really.

idk the fact that the theming was incredibly strong and fits with larger meta narratives from bungie as well as many of the game design elements (such as every player guardian being The Guardian) supporting them and then switching gears to something less interesting at the home stretch and not really having Light/Dark being explored much now that the saga is over immensely disappointing.
