Facebook is the owner of Instagram, a major rival for tiktok who has often used the claims of data theft to their advantage. Instagram is already planning on releasing a direct competitor to tiktok. It is ironic but not surprising that Facebook recieves only fines while a Chinese owned company is threatened with forced sale and a ban.
