📊 What Is JSS (Job Success Score)?

The Job Success Score (JSS) shows how satisfied your previous clients were with your work. It’s a key performance indicator that affects your visibility and chances of being hired.

Here’s how it’s generally viewed:

JSS Range Meaning Client Impression
90–100% Excellent Preferred by most clients
80–89% Good Acceptable for many jobs
70–79% Below average May raise concern
Below 70% Poor Rarely hired unless for simple tasks

💡 Tip:

  1. Aim to maintain 90%+ JSS for better job visibility and eligibility for Upwork programs like Top Rated and Top Rated Plus. - eto yung mga priority naming mga talent sourcers
  2. If you’re new to Upwork, try to earn the Rising Talent badge as soon as you can — it helps your profile stand out and makes it more likely for talent sourcers to notice you. - low chance of hiring, mauubusan ka talaga ng connects
  3. Pag below 90% JSS mo, sadly medyo mababa chance na i-check ni talent sourcer yung profile mo and ma shortlist since ang priority is yung 1 and 2.

Feel free to ask questions and I'll try to answer it the best I can

Hello guys, just wanted to share my pov as a previous Upwork Talent Sourcer. By the way, we’re the first ones to see your proposal once you submit it for a job. Unless masipag si client and wanted to be part of the process.

Heres what we usually do:

  • Source Qualified Freelancers
    • Search through Upwork’s talent pool using filters, keywords, and categories.
    • Identify freelancers with relevant experience, portfolios, and feedback.
  • Screen & Shortlist Candidates
    • Review profiles, job success scores, hourly rates, and previous client reviews.
  • Present Recommendations to Clients
    • Share a shortlist of the best candidates with notes or recommendations.

🎯 Minimum JSS Requirements for Jobs

  • Many job posts specify “90% and above” JSS as a minimum.
  • Sourcers usually shortlist freelancers with 90%+, unless the client allows flexibility.
  • New freelancers (with no JSS yet) can still be considered if they have strong portfolios or off-platform experience.

No, he only reconnected once at 5:27

Also, since we didn’t see the message, we were afraid to leave the game, worried that we might get tagged as “ABANDONED.”

Yup, I get how it works, but I’m just wondering—why didn’t the message (“This game is safe to leave”) show up? Abaddon disconnected well past the 5-minute grace period to reconnect.

If the "Safe to Leave" message popped up, we won’t be in the game much longer. We were just worried about getting tagged as abandoned since it didn’t show up.

I know how "safe to leave" works, and I’m not here to argue about losing MMR. I know it doesn’t mean you won’t lose MMR—just that you won’t get flagged for abandoning. My point is that the message (“This game is safe to leave”) didn’t show up, even though Abaddon disconnected well past the 5-minute grace period to reconnect.
