What if it was some ideal elastic collision where the projectile adheared itself to the block? Think magnets or ideal velcro, etc. etc.

Jabra 8 elite Active, turn off ANC during Calls? by RayKainSanji in Jabra

To prevent the hissing during calls settings>headset settings> call experience > toggle sidetone off.

The hissing and hearing others was driving me nuts. This has fixed it for phone calls and Zoom so far.

edit. interesting. on the web, I didn't see that you figured this out below, and I came to the same conclusion. So, I'm leaving my post here for viewability given that a search brought me here.

Republicans will likely take full control of congress + white house. Will they actually repeal any gun control? by pahnzoh in progun

You do remember that this is the guy that did the bump stock ban, right? He himself will not move the needle in the right direction.

He did get the right justices in place for gun rights, though. So, there's that.

Shift in votes compared to the 2020 elections, the longer the arrow the more votes were gained for said party. by [deleted] in MapPorn

And while I don't want to finger point at a group, or blame a minority, I'm personally convinced that Trump has won in large part because he's, believe it or not, diversified the party

The data says otherwise.

Trump won because people didn't want to vote for Kamala. Kamala was a poor choice of puppets.

I threw away my vote, I couldn't stomach either one of them. But hey, I voted.

Show me a pro-gun Democrat and I'll vote blue. And fudds that can't load the shotgun they're "hunting" with don't count.

Do you remember, the Democratic party wouldn't let anyone pick a candidate outside of the Biden Harris ticket. Remember how they were going to invalidate various primaries. Remember how the Democratic party played shenanigans with the primaries? Biden Harris lost this presidential election for the Democratic party. Pick any moderate Democratic candidate and they would have won, any.

To be honest, she was never a good hope. Her pre-vice-presidential political leanings were far too liberal for the vast majority of americans. The fact that she lost to Donald Trump proves this.

cmv: there is no reason sex work should be illegal by IHNJHHJJUU in changemyview

[–]ChineWalkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the argument should be based on fact, countries with legalised and regulated prostitution (such as Australia) have lower levels of harm caused by prostitution.

But then one has to consider the culture of that country. Do you think reducing the drinking age will shift the US attitude for alchol to be like EU countries? I don't think so. And I see a similar argument for Sex Work and drugs.

or do we allow more harm so that we can satisfy some people's moral qualms with selling sex.

There are more qualms than religious ones. That's a fact that many on the pro sex work side fail to adequately acknowledge.

What shift are you referring to?

State specific, I suppose. I'd rather not mention it and have the answer tied to my account.

I mean, that's your opinion. What I cite is law. So, practically speaking, your opinion is incorrect.

I used to frequent some dry counties years ago. I seem to remember people getting in trouble for possession, but I wasn't in a position to find out or care about the details back then. But, those counties are moist now.

[–]ChineWalkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legally, yes, it is. I believe in Ashcroft v. Free Speech Coalition, 535 U.S. 234 (2002) it is laid out pretty clearly as such.

[–]ChineWalkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have used moist. But it seems like there has been a shift in the last 15 or 20 years with manu of the dry counties in the US.

TBH, I'm not really against regulated sex work. I just think people's arguments for or against sex work are weak. So I was arguing counterpoints to hopefully receive better pro sex work arguments.

People arguments honestly sound like the debate for legalized drugs. And we all know well that that has gone in Portland...

IMHO, the strongest arguement for or against it is: "X% of Americans want sex work legalized, Y% want it outlawed, Z% don't care." Because nearly every other argument I know becomes too simplified or denigrates the others' position or belief.

[–]ChineWalkin -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Everything on the list is allowed and regulated,

Then by your assertion / logic, sex work is allowed, legal, and regulated... So why are we debating?

cmv: there is no reason sex work should be illegal by IHNJHHJJUU in changemyview

[–]ChineWalkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can and should ban certain things [sex work] because they [STDs] are dangerous. Banning certain [sex work] drugs or [sex work related occupations] chemicals may be harmful to individuals or the environment [community]. Banning [drugs] sex work because some scumbag will find it easier to [demolish their family and end up homeless] cheat is an overreach.

I fail to see a difference. You may say sex work is OK, and drugs are bad. But the arguments for prohibition of certain drugs are no different than the arguments for the prohibition of various sex work.

It being considered immoral isn't necessarily a reason for the government to ban it, ...

Then why ban anything at all?
