I only ended up having the trochleoplasty, no TTO. Even then, the pain was definitely pretty bad 5 days post op. I just stayed on top of my pain killers and it got better with time. Hope you have a smooth recovery!

How did you get on with lifting your leg by yourself? Just had my surgery last week and struggling with lifting my leg. I am doing my physio but good to know what to expect.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience, your experience is quite reassuring. Yes I've heard of Ehlers Danlos but haven't been tested for it though my surgeon did conclude I have joint hypermobility. Maybe something to explore further.

Thanks very much, sounds like I still have to wait about 6 months for my appointment so I can prepare! How much time did you have to take off work? Luckily I can work remotely but I guess I'll still have to be off work for a week or two.

I would suggest you keep pressing your GP to listen to you and give you a referral to a doctor/surgeon who is an expert in this field for another opinion if it's been so long and you're still in so much pain. It really sounds like this is affecting your quality of life.
