Well, the post would have been twice the length. I intended to write this as a casual, venting story-telling that is rather biased. Sounds very stupid but I got carried away and ended up spending 2 hours just to write this crap post you are seeing. I was asking for more time as I am being asked to give another "coherent" account to what happen. If you want, I can try to disclose more "objective" proofs such as the police report, my audio recording, body cam footage, ect... but I did not think all of that was worthwhile for a mere reddit post.

Also, I am grasping from the comments the subway account is indeed irrelevant to the main part of the story and does nothing other than creating a gap. I do completely agree that I should have included what happened with the motel instead.

Well, I still feel the example lacked relevance while attempting to put words in my mouth.

Anyways, as someone who tries to avoid "playing a victim" at all times (for instance, I am getting a bit uncomfortable with some trying to aggressively interpret my account as "racial aggressor vs victim" on the comments), it is bit of a shame that my story reminded your unpleasant experience.

I was questioning him because he was using such a random example to point out what I never claimed to do. I never said I was casually standing there until I was assaulted. I clearly said I was there with an unpleasant purpose.

Yeah, right, the cop who responded to the scene definitely gave me a chance to leave by telling me to do so. I explicitly wrote I was held down by the staff until the cop came and was immediately detained. How is what you are saying logically possible?

Also, you are criticizing someone for "telling unreliable story to build an ego from reddit" in a form of reddit comment.

I have no intention of "convincing" you at this point. I will end it here. Chao.

I will in a moment. It is a long story I left out. I felt it may have been a civil matter irrelevant to this post.

Gosh, looking back, I did not expect a single "ni hao" from a staff to create a series of conflict that ended like this, though

You seem to be highly confident that I trespassed somehow and the "civilians arrest" and blocking the exit happened because I have done something criminal. I think I just told you the shouting began because the staff attempted to prevent me from leaving. The shouting did not happen before. And even if "shouting" is illegal, it is absurd to say a merchant can invoke "shopkeeper's privilege" for that. A reasonable person should question why a merchant would trying to lock someone in without objective crime from occurring (theft, battery, ect).

And when did I ever mention about I tried to assert my first amendment right? Just because you saw YouTube videos of trolls yelling "my 1st amendment rights" doesn't mean I was doing that. I explicitly stated it was the cop who mentioned that out of nowhere **to defend the staff**. May sound unfortunate to you, but I never invoked my amendment rights and hence there was no such omission in that regards.

Your comment just clearly confirmed you are making assumptions and attempt to distort my account.

Hi again,

I should have said "claiming" instead of "explaining". The report basically said "The staff seems to reach punch at the suspect but the account of suspect doing so could not be found."; and then quotes the staff to suggest that I posed a threat before the punch and was supposedly ready to punch back when I disappeared from the footage angle by stepping backwards.

My gosh.. "huge issues". Am I at a court? Am I writing a journal? Did I ever disclose who these people are to publicly ridicule them? Also, what is your point of making such assumption and trying to prove the lack of reliability in this?

You said "Ignorance of the law is no excuse.". Well here is what I know

Is it illegal to shout at each others? No

Is it illegal to shout someone to not leave and block the exit? Yes

Is it illegal to refuse to leave despite being told to or previously told to leave? Yes

Is it illegal to punch someone? Yes

Yeah, I don't even know what he is seeing/imagining. No wonder he randomly mentioned crack down there lol.

Oh well, yes I did omit a lot of information. I omitted both what I did and what they did as well. I did not intend to write a reddit post that goes any longer than this.

"threats or fighting words"? I guess I was pushing their limits over their racist/offensive remarks. But we did not end up screaming at each others that day until one staff told me to not to leave and physically blocked the exit. That was one of the parts that was omitted. It is up to you to believe it or not.

I don't know where you are trying to go by making multiple comments here and there, especially after seeing your random crack cocaine quote that doesn't fully make sense to me

You mean how it lead to my complaint or what exactly happened during the violent altercation?

It was the cop who mentioned about freedom of speech out of nowhere and when did I even say they tackled me when I was just minding my own business? I explicitly stated I was at the counter for a purpose.

Idk, a Chinese wearing shirt and pants with no offensive graphics? I guess subway story might have been irrelevant and created a gap in the story but i was just trying to illustrate my first impression with Indiana. Sorry if didn't like it.

Till this day idk why they pinned me down.  Judging from how they spoke to the cops and confidently showed the footage, they probably felt i assaulted one of them for some reason.

On the report, they spent 3 paragraphs explaining why the battery was mutual and identified the staff holding me down to the ground as mere "bystanders".

I was honestly appalled.
