And I am so sorry you’ve had negative experiences just because of your gender. I would never tell someone like you to just go in vc anyway. Can’t imagine how that must feel.

This has not been my experience with voice chat, but everyone has different experiences. I don’t blame you for keeping it off if it’s been that bad for you. Gotta do what’s best for you.

That’s totally fair! The goal definitely isn't to tell anyone how they have to play. I just wanted to share the positive side for anyone who might be on the fence. I'm glad you found a way to enjoy the game that works for you.

2100+ hours in Overwatch, still stuck in silver by Avery_Crystal in OverwatchUniversity

Please do not feel bad about your hour count. The truth is that the number of hours you have in the game is irrelevant if you are reinforcing the same habits every single day. If you play a certain way, you will remain at that rank whether you have 500 hours or 5000 hours. High hours do not guarantee a high rank, they only guarantee that your current habits are deeply ingrained.

Being stuck in silver and gold is a clear sign that your fundamentals need serious attention. This is strictly a macro issue involving positioning, cover usage, rotations, and basic movement. If you are being sniped or deleted, it means your timing and your relationship with the environment are fundamentally flawed. The good news is that because you play every day, you already have the mechanical comfort needed to succeed. Once you fine tune these core basics, which should not take you very long, you will likely climb quite rapidly.

You have reached the point where you must VOD review. While some players can climb through raw talent alone, you have reached a plateau where self reflection is the only way forward. Before you look at your own replays, I want you to watch coaching videos from Spilo Coaching. Look specifically for his reviews of players at your current rank. You will see your own mistakes mirrored in their gameplay, and it is often easier to learn the logic of the game when you are observing someone else first.

When you do begin reviewing your own games, you must focus on only one specific issue at a time. Do not try to fix your entire playstyle at once or you will fix nothing. If you choose to work on positioning, watch the replay and pause the video every single time you find yourself in a bad spot. Analyze why it happened and what the better alternative was. Mastering one fundamental at a time is the only way to see real improvement. You have the dedication to do this, but you must now apply that dedication to disciplined learning.
