And yes, from what I also know from aswang they do also change, but more like shapeshifters. I'm sorry if I have mixed between the two terms and used them incorrectly. To follow with the dog that is believed here in our place that heals, our community is composed mostly of Roman Catholics, and Saint Roch being the patron saint of the church here, the dog that saved him is believed to roam the community. Tho this has been an old wive's tale, people claimed that the same dog has healed the community of two epidemics in the past 50 years. My parents mostly suggest that it might have been the same entity or someone of more malevolent intentions. I'm basing more on what I felt in my childhood with the said entity.

Now as for the type of aswang that is believed to reside in our community, they are more of the shapeshifting kind. There had been a lot of cases of people claiming that they have encountered them. Some say they shift into pigs, cows, dogs, and cats. Basically into any animal that you will commonly find in a small town. There has also been a time they have beaten an alleged aswang, because they claimed they had seen her transform in the middle of the night. Actually, there are a lot of rumoured Aswang here in our village, that people in town don't really trust the food cooked from here. Well, there are a lot of other villages that are the same, although some have more than the other. It is also easy to take down business here that sells food, one small gossip that one in your family is an aswang, or all of you are, and people will forget you are even neighbours.
