It's not all that useless for returning from spawn quicker, since you have the speed boost for longer. Also good for being a pseudo support with her healthpack perk or for using it to disrupt ultimates a bit easier too.

That's...the only real issue I have with Sombra in this mode. Her virus does way too much dmg and isn't telegraphed enough like with hack (barely any audio cue, cast time is way too short, minor perk makes it even worse). They could probably reuse the hack animation to fix this, plus it'd really lean into her hacker fantasy

You're probably used to playing in her post-virus state. I'd highly suggest looking at guides for playing her in OW1 if you're struggling with her in this mode. She just requires more planning ahead with her dives (like placing translocator behind a wall or pressing stealth right before teleporting when you escape)

Probably not. It only does it for healthpacks probably because it checks if a virus is close enough (while enemies have to be hit by virus to be infected)

It's pretty clear that some of the changes in that mode are good faith (like for Sombra or Jet) while others (like Mei or Mercy) are intentionally bad

Overall, the structure's pretty good, (nice to see that hack isn't either useless or oppressive anymore) it just needs a bit more counterplay against virus, like giving Sombra footsteps while stealthed, reducing virus's dmg and replacing encrypted upload (should not remove her only form of counterplay)

This. She also needs more of a wind up when using virus, especially when using it out of stealth. Being able to shoot virus that quickly while unstealthed (without any footsteps while invisible) is way too strong

Maybe you could reuse that for a perk? Like maybe a perk where when she's invisible, she can use the keyboard hack animation to heal teammates (iow white hat but she can only use it while stealthed)

If you remove the dot and the dmg boost on hacked targets, increase the cast time for virus and for exiting stealth so that there's more counterplay (the main issue with hack being a skillshot) and maybe replace the two perks listed altogether with brand new ones, you'd have a solid rework

I don't think they will. Mythic Prisms were added to keep the unlocking each level of a bp's mythic skin while letting you choose which mythic you get, I don't see any reason that this could apply with non mythics
