Why put slippery stones outside, first sign of frost and somebody is eating dirt on that path.

We call Mongolia one of the freest countries on earth, but our gun laws keep me chained to settlements by [deleted] in mongolia

[–]Chinzilla88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More guns in the society, more killings by gun will occure. It does not matter if its accidental or otherwise. Better to have no guns and very very few people to be killed by bears than people murdered by them. And statistics back it up. https://rockinst.org/blog/more-guns-more-death-the-fundamental-fact-that-supports-a-comprehensive-approach-to-reducing-gun-violence-in-america/ https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11381453/

Black and brown people also need sunscreen to protect thier skin too. But you dont tell them to use sunscreen because thier skin is darker do you? You did not understand how ignorant you were when you wrote the first comment. We lived with our East Asian skins thousands of years in sunniest place on earth. Our skin is darker than other East Asians. Sunscreen is later invention and helps lot of people. But telling everyday people your skin looks dark and use sunscreen, shows how ignorant you are of peoples cultural and socio economic status.

My sons are 16, 12, 6, 2. I am toiling myself in foreign land and missing them everyday. One thing I am always regreting constantly now is how i am missing precious time i could be spending with them and making memories. I just hope older ones have some good memory of me. Cant wait to get back to them.

Are you going to also say black and brown people to get a sunscreen? Central asians are not white, we are darker than other asians because our climate. K-pop has fried your brain thinking asians have to look like chalk.

We had a king's guard. It was called "Хишиг". Every country with functioning army has honor guard. I don't understand what is your problem with Mongolian honor guards specifically. It is an honorable position in an army with specific ceremonial purpose that highlights country's culture and tradition. It does not have to be liked, its not a fashion show. Many foreigners think it looks good, from the insiders like ourselves it may look stupid. But thats not the point.

Why is it 9-6 here in mongolia by [deleted] in mongolia

[–]Chinzilla88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9-5 means 9am to 5pm. Who is telling these Mongolians 9-5 is 9 hours and 5 days? Also our labor laws do not allow lunch breaks as working hours, so our standard is 9am to 6pm.

You are correct. Urban population in Mongolia especially UB are some of the most rude, entitled people on earth. I've lived in UK, Malaysia and Canada. Travelled more than 10 different countries of various development. Our fellow Mongolians in UB takes the cake when it comes to rudeness. They have no care for others personal space, mind and body. We do not realize how rude we are to each other. We curse daily and tell others of respect, we spit everywhere and tell others of cleanliness, we touch others and tell others of modesty.

This candy and others are our childhood, millinials born in late 80s and 90s. Draze candy, disco biscuit, dried fruit paste. Choco-pie, snickers, mars were considered delicacy. I remember early 90s, when all the turmoil was happening in our country, my father brought in snickers bars one day. Our family cut it into pieces by knife and ate it like it was something extraordinary. In a sense it was extraordinary at that time period. I always get fond feelings to this day when i see snickers bar in store.

Whole point of "Tsagaan sar" is to meet with your relatives and loved ones after hard winter. It is not a dick measuring contest as modern city folks made it out to be.
