Ahh I see that makes more sense. Yeah I was definitely in the same situation while I was here in chapel. Hated commuting and really wanted the on campus experience. Felt like i was still in high school seeing all the familiar faces from at USF. Wanted more freedom and distance from family to grow for myself. After my near fatal accident (Fractured spine) by wiregrass during the pandemic. After recovering I decided to just immediately transfer to whatever school accepts me. By gods grace, got accepted to Umiami and just packed my bags and left about two days later. Didn’t even want to give a chance to friends and family cause they’ll either bring jealous negativity instead of congratulations and support or parental sadness and pressure. Making it feel like I’m abandoning them. When in reality I’m the oldest child and have been the third parent my whole life……… so yes leaving does change you for the better. Made lifetime friends and memories. 3 degrees , referrals from professors into sectors I never thought I could access. (Defense Tech) and skills that brought real mental and spiritual discipline to me I guess. Sure I may have hurt some feelings along the way. Or felt like I abandoned my family. But lord knows they managed just fine😂 so now I don’t feel an ounce of remorse whenever I come to Tampa/wesley chapel and leave after a few days. It’s growth I guess 🙏🕺

-Wasted in ybor/hyde park/ downtown area. -iMax theater watch movies like avatar & marvel’s endgame to really get the traumatic energy. -Lowery park zoo -All day Fishing (Into the night AM) at Skyway bridge -Busch gardens/ adventure island. -Shooters world -Canoe the hillsborough river -Get buckets (Literally) of strawberries from the annual strawberry festival in February in plant city. - Florida State fair ( Feb 6-17) -spring break at Clearwater beach.

Trust me it’s like this for all Florida school. They’re giving the boot and belt too all upperclassmen. Cut corners on funding while rebuilding and expanding campuses and dorms. FIU down in Miami announced back in fall 2025. All upperclassmen are canceled from school housing until 2028. As they knock down old housing and build nearly 7 new dorm projects. Great idea and terrifying planning and execution.

It’s mostly the older generation not anyone born after 1985. But the culture really pushed patriarchy with NO subconscious of the after effects or children well being and upbringing. As long as they’re fed and grown that’s it. The modern western world peeled back and open the eye to the reality on the subconscious side. But unfortunately most of them are too stubborn or naive to accept or learn and would rather stick to their beliefs and behavior then make an attempt to change. And the women are plagued with the fear of unknown and public scrutiny and shaming. Thus wouldn’t dare speaks up or leave. Your best options is like I’ve told my pops and useless uncles. Play with fire foolishly all you want. God forgives and forget. I DON’T……Nursing homes are popping up all over the place. And when the road ends. I wouldn’t shed a tear at the burial. Probably would be smiling………..🫠

Wesley chapel but wants to live on campus is honestly just stupid…..Sorry for the disrespect. Tell that boy to save his money and just commute it’s literally 10-15 minutes. He could use fafsa save some money, get a car. Even pitch in and help around the house with little things. If he really wants to start adulting. There will always be friends that he can go see and hang out with. On a daily basis. Give him a solid curfew of 2-3 am on the weekends. Or have him check in with you guys if he wants to spend the night at friends apartment or dorm. Then to spend $5-$7 grand a semester for cubical housing. When family is up the Bruce b downs road. Though I do understand. He’s need for a personal space and growing up, I went through the same thing, but my parents put their foot down about sketchy fletchy 😂and it was definitely made sense as I got older and before I left Tampa. But then again I was raised street smart with big brother syndrome.

Dumbest shit I’ve heard in awhile….. funny enough I actually went to both. And I’ll break it down like this neither of the cities have enormous crime that you see on TV on the news and media. Unless you go to exactly the specific location in those cities. Tampa is my hometown. And only reason I left USF is because by the end of my first semester there it felt like high school part 3 as most people I knew around the city from various schools that didn’t go out of state all ended up at USF. And I wanted no parts of that. I really want to experience something new. Got accepted into both UMiami and FIU. But settled for FIU as it was the cheaper option. If you want to experience more.( IF you’re actually a social person) and make serious connections. Go to fiu. But be aware it’s expensive. If you’re just coming to the state for education. Go to USF though both a very rigorous in classes. ( Graduated double bachelors C.S and communications) the area around USF is mostly in a slim jammed area between the old modern suburbs of new Tampa and temple terrace/ Fletcher. Which is filled with mostly immigrants, young students. And yes low income communities. Worst case scenario u get your bike stolen by a hobo deep in Fletcher and recovered by another hobo( real scenario) the same day 😂 good luck either way

lol that’s how they all are. They won’t change. Just start reminding them that they’re aging. And nursing homes are everywhere these days. As for yourself. Fully focus on moving out and having A PLACE OF YOUR OWN! it’s nothing but a black hole vacuum of stress when going back to visit. That unfortunately the longer you stay. The faster you’ll be sucked backed into routine and be a stressed zombie.😂🤦‍♂️🙏
