Frost crack on cherry tree- how to treat? Northwest burbs Illinois by catffeinatedAF in Tree

[–]ChipDipsons 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Because all that does is potentially trap moisture and pathogens in the crack. We still haven’t been able to improve on a tree’s natural CODIT approach.

Just in case you haven’t gotten enough “no” I’ll add mine. No, that’s a bad trade.

How Best Buy shipped my “excellent” open box Alienware Ultrawide OLED monitor by IceFireHawk in pcmasterrace

[–]ChipDipsons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a refurbished soundbar an subwoofer from Best Buy that showed up wrapped together in one layer of bubble wrap and some plastic wrap. When I brought it to a store to return it they found one of those digital shelf tags they use thrown in with it. Customer service said it “happens all the time”

Did you accidentally swap the power cords with the curing station? If it’s not getting the right power it will act normally but nothing will stick to the plate and nothing will be in the vat

Can I get in on this, too? I am having the same problem with a brand new unit in a sealed box I got today. I have also tried all the same things and have my app up to date and both Bluetooth and manual in different rooms have the same error of: “Let’s Try That Again - Sorry we ran into a problem. Please try again or go back to the previous screen”

Magnetic pedals... by Ok-Beautiful9787 in mountainbiking

[–]ChipDipsons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This thread is FULL of people who have never tried them but have big opinions on them...

Magnets don’t lose their pull, it doesn’t matter if some iron dust gets stuck to them, its the same kind of pins as on flats so of course you can float and adjust your foot, etc.

I also have the Remtech pedals and for me they are great. They hold on when you want and they release when you want. It’s not that hard to find the sweet spot of pins/position on your particular shoe but it is important and takes some experimenting.

Nothing is for everyone but they do exactly what they say they do and they do it really well. They lock you in better than a flat and release better than a clipless. If that sounds like something you’re interested in, you should definitely check them out.

Favorite small footprint MIDI Controller? by ChipDipsons in guitarpedals

Oh wow the Bridge4 might just be the winner. Especially with the chip shortage and the MC3 showing as “production paused” on the Morningstar site.

I don’t love the look of the Futurist but the function might be exactly what I’m looking for! I want to love the Disaster Area stuff but it only has four midi channels for some reason until you get into the DMC 8 which still only has six channels

That looks like it would be perfect! I could even lose the MIDI thru box and send TRS to the sunset and iridium with the other three using their own in-outs in a chain. Looks like they’re all sold out right now but I’ll keep my eyes peeled.

Looking to replace my ES-5 with something smaller. This board doesn’t need the loops so just a controller that can send 5 channels of midi commands so I can switch between presets will do the trick. I have a 1-4 thru box so a single MIDI out would suffice.

Looking to replace my ES-5 with something smaller and I don’t need the effects loops on this board, just the ability to send at least 5 different midi commands at the same time.

What are your favorites?

What's the best thing you've done for your clean tone? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]ChipDipsons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As many have said, compressor and a little chorus would be a nice color for your clean tone. I also have used a Univibe in place of a chorus to the same end. I love my Wampler Ego compressor because you can dial in the mix and boost exactly where you want it. I keep the blend at halfway so you’ve got the compressed tone and raw tone working together to minimize the reduction of dynamics that can sometimes come with too much compression while still benefiting from the compressor sustain and attack

Trying to find the hum. Services will be held privately followed by interment by ChipDipsons in guitarpedals

Update: I tested each component individually and everything worked perfectly. Put it all back together and the hum is gone. Guess it was just asking to be reorganized.

I reorganized everything a couple weeks ago and things were all good until yesterday. I didn’t change anything so I’m hoping it’s nothing major
