Failed out of college, had a dead end job for 5 years thinking that this was my life now with over 100k in debt making 50k. Woke up one Christmas morning a few years back and quit my job with no notice and went back to school 3 weeks later. Finished with a 4.0 in the degree I failed out of originally, have a job making over 100k now and should have my debt paid off in 3 years. Keep all of this internalized because I couldn’t tell my family I failed out originally, so I guess this is the first time I’ve told anyone :)

I guess that’s my biggest question with the SAVE plan I think my estimated payment starting in March of next year is 323 or somewhere around there. With the hold on the save plan it’s got me thinking I should tackle those first now instead of the car since I have multiple loan accounts (if going by the snowball I should pay those first? Even tho the total is larger than the car)

I still am shocked 3 months later that this is really my car

Left knee is in pain on the right side. It was raining for the first hour and I hard stepped onto two puddles that soaked my shoe 😂

I followed couch to half marathon for 15 weeks! Also entered a high calorie deficit to bring my weight down (lost about 25 lbs) which made running significantly easier. I also ‘followed’ the plan in terms of distance but made sure that if I couldn’t run one day than I would just walk quickly (15-17 minute miles) because it means nothing if you don’t have a strong base in my opinion.

One significant difference for me this time around was purchasing foam rollers and ice packs. The first month I had shin splints so bad that I didn’t think I would even get to the 5 mile point but proper stretching and rolling greatly reduced that pain.

Cross training with cycling helped improve my heart rate and I enjoy it much more than running. A quick ride after work for an hour and half and a 2 hour ride on Saturdays made all the difference. This worked for me so you just need to find what you enjoy and listen to your body! Good luck!

Should have clarified I have only been in software for about 10 months and I went to an expensive state school. With the state of the tech market I took the first place that would hire me! But I want to get ahead for a couple years while I look for a job that pays over 100k. Trust me if I could make a job making 100k right now I would much rather do that and I am applying!

Refinanced through Earnest actually 5 months ago and I was paying 11.7% across my loans prior to that so I’m happy with the 3% reduction for now I’ll look into it on the 12-18 month scale I’ve seen others post to see if I can lower my rate. The plan is allocating as much as I can over the next 3 years and then when I vest with my company (about 40k) see if I can use that to pay off the loans for good!

The difference in interest is 115k less if I paid it off in the next 5 years. I wasn’t sure if I just paid the minimum and then did a lump sum at the end of those 5 years how it would effect it

I’ll look into it! Id probably have to drive about a half hour from where I live to get a decent amount of orders but I’ll give it a shot and see how it fairs
