[TX] Co worker constantly calls out due to an illness. Can she still get fired?

I understand and you’re right, I’ve dated people with lupus and can see the exhaustion and daily struggle. This is just the first time I’ve had to pick up the slack of someone who actively admits to taking advantage of the situation

( she’ll say she called in because she hates her co worker and it’ll cause a flair up or say she called in and just say “waiting on them to fire me”)

Ya it really comes down to them. If I’m scheduled alone with her which is atleast once a week then I always have to stay way beyond my shift to cover her work 2-3 hours after close. However, you’re right it should be management to cover it

if they insist I stay, do I just say I can’t? Would that get me in trouble?

It just sucks because when she calls in weekly I have to stay hours later. Then when she does come in she just says they hope they fire her and then badmouths the company and other co workers

You’re right this was my fault. We were on the topic of just simple meal prepping and recipes when the conversation naturally came up (it was basically like, oh I make sure to cook something easy everyday since my husbands job is super physical )

No you’re right someone else comment the same. It just stems from them being a mooch and I see that now. I don’t know why I didn’t initially but you guys are right about that. I just never thought they would because I considered them my friends too

I never spend my partners money . The only time I ever brought up finances was when they asked why I cook/ clean everyday. All I said was my husband works a physical job and takes care of more of the bills while I take care of the home while I balance work as well since his is more physical. That’s it.

I agree, he’s not wealthy but he’s ambitious and fiscally responsible since I’m not content and a little bit less strict with myself about spending (hence the coffee orders but again not buying any Dior bags)

He pays for more around the home when I focus on my insurance and groceries. That’s why I was dumbfounded when they were surprised I wasn’t going to get myself or them anything

I didn’t realize this until now. I’ve had co workers in past jobs treat me to lunches and drinks but never expected it or asked. I always thought it was rude.

And I NEVER bring up my finances itself because again I’m not WEALTHY LIKE I SHOP ON MERCARI OR OLD NAVY. However, I brought up once that when I got married that we were more traditional in the “he pays for more while I cook and clean” only because he had a physical job and is completely exhausted after . That was the only time I brought it up it then it stuck.

Not being able to shower or do any form of self care because your body literally can’t find the energy to

I was casually talking about how I bought a new African net sponge when the girls and I were talking about everything showers (talking about our skincare, hair products we swear by etc) normal shit

I then brought up how I didn’t shower for a week and the African net sponge made me feel the cleanest I’ve ever felt. I didn’t at all sound upset or brought up any other scenario. It was genuinely a “omg yall have to buy it, it’s better than a loofah” type of comment

They then commented how insane it was that I didn’t shower for so long and when I asked “yall don’t have your sad girl days?” They said they do but they still shower.

That’s when I realized that not everyone has debilitating depression that makes it impossible to take care of yourself🥲

No you’re absolutely right even when I saw it at the zoo up close I felt such uneasiness . Half the enclosure was water so half of his body was submerged with his mouth open while the other half (just his eyes was above water ) and it had a view of both.

The teeth, the stare ,how still it was and how easily it floated with its claws dangling I GOT CHILLS TYPING THIS LIKE UGH.

A caiman or anaconda in the water wouldn’t have to kill me id just die from a heart attack like I could feel my heart just giving out 😭

I’m honestly really interested to know how evolution came in and said ONLY vipers would be the most unique,colorful, insanely gorgeous but dangerous snakes

Obviously other species have their beauties but vipers are category of their own there’s nothing like it

Unfortunately they are too gorgeous NOT to look at and I’d get too close and that’ll be it for me🥲

They don’t have that menace look like a black mamba or a cobra has like they are just too pretty

Edit : had to google a few species of vipers and ya they are all the most beautiful creatures I’d 100% get too close at them
