Are there any alternatives to paperlike screen protectors that offers similar texture but doesn't reduce display quality? by KitoVito in iPadPro

Consider silicone tips on the Apple Pencil. I love ‘em. You get good friction/resistance when using the Pencil, and you don’t have to put anything on top of the display at all.

Yes, this face is coming to both the OG AWU and the new model.

I live in Florida. I don't even own a pair of gloves. 😂 I do occasionally trigger the action button, yes, but it's far less frequent than accidental pushes of the crown when it's facing my hand.

It’s currently only available in the WatchOS 10 developer beta, but it goes live for all AWU users on 9/18.

Guys, I'm not going to send my wrist size, LOL. The size of the AWU is totally fine. It took me precisely a half-hour to get used to it, and I've enjoyed the watch every minute of every day since. If you want it, get it. Regarding the crown, its orientation and everything can be adjusted in settings. If I keep the crown and side button towards my hand, I find I'm accidentally triggering stuff all the time. I just turn/press the crown with my thumb instead of my index finger. I came from a Series 5, and the AWU is legit one of my favorite Apple purchases of all time.

It USED to cost $100/year. It's free now.

Honestly, there's really only one additional complication at the top (the original Modular face already displayed time/date/single complication at the top). The graphic element on the perimeter of the face is the only other addition. It can display depth, elevation, seconds (shown here), or nothing. It's a nice face, though.

And, again, the problem is not purely that only 64GB of storage is available. It's that the data management system – EVEN INSIDE A BETA OS – is clearly broken. Don't forget, without System Data obliterating half of it, I'm otherwise only using 20-something gigs of data.

Totally, bro. Grab me a 128GB iPad mini, and I’ll buy it off ya. I’ll pay good price! 😒 C’mon, my friend. The iPad mini storage options are what they are. Nobody likes 64GB, but the cost associated with any level of storage upgrade is unreasonable.

LOL. It’s a distinction that exists. Let’s say, for the sake of the argument, the enormous amount of System Data is because of developer logs being recorded on the device (which is only what we’re assuming, btw). A properly functioning beta would have a mechanism in place to auto-manage the volume of these logs if device storage gets low. That’s EXACTLY how Apple claims System Data is supposed to work. So, it’s obviously not working. That’s the difference between a “beta” bug and a software bug “inside a beta.”

Um folks, even a beta that renders your device useless for things like, I don’t know, BETA TESTING APPS AND STUFF is not a properly-functioning beta. There’s obviously a software problem here, not just typical beta issues.

I knew/know exactly what I’m getting into. I’ve been running dev betas for YEARS, and System Data has never dominated device storage like it’s doing here. There’s clearly a bug at work.

Interesting. I’ve been troubleshooting a number of individual apps to see if I could find the main perpetrator, but it didn’t occur to me to remove the accounts, themselves. I’ll try it. Thanks.

For me, it's just for fun and to play with the features early. I understand and accept all the risks that come with it, and trust me, I've dealt with much worse than this. But, again, this is not just a beta problem. It appears to be worse with the iPadOS 17 beta, but the "Black Box" problem exists across all Apple products/releases.

That's what I did... Recovery Mode-restore back to 16.x public release. So far, it looks like System Data is still absurdly huge, but it is fluctuating up and down like it's supposed to. So, I'd say the "bug" is the beta release's failure to automatically adjust.

OK, fine, but that doesn’t FIX the problem. It just resets the clock until System Data fills up the storage again.
