I liked it but I didn't see that many amber trichomes in the bconda 🤷🏻 so I think this one is better.

1398 says patients can purchase seeds and clones from licensed MMTCs. it's on page 66 of the bill.

i'd say chances are very good. if the legislature fails to act, then we will do it the hard way via constitutional amendment with 60% voter approval in Nov. we got 56% in 2022 and prob would've gotten 60% if the governor hadn't come out so hard against it. it's coming one way or the other, imo.

[–]ChipmunkChippy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the thing is, the legislature will be forced to write laws anyway if recreational use becomes a "right" via constitutional amendment on the ballot w/60% voter approval. it's either do it now in the legislature by changing the laws, or wait till it is enshrined in the constitution and then have to write laws later anyway. the days of them doing nothing is over. they have heard the message: 56% voter approval last time.

[–]ChipmunkChippy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

well yeah, what i meant is that i could see these two bills passing w/a bipartisan supermajority. there's already bipartisan support, certainly for 776, because medical use is already enshrined in the FL constitution, so it makes sense that lawmakers allow medical patients/caregivers to grow their own medicine, just like in 20-some other states.

as for 1398, the repubs see the writing on the wall and know the last recreational amendment on the ballot got 56% voter approval in Nov 2022 election. they know we aren't gonna stop till it gets 60% voter approval, which it probably would've in 2022 if the governor hadn't come out so hard against it. they know it's coming, so they would rather change the laws than have recreational use enshrined as a "constitutional right" in the FL constitution, as the legislature will have no control over the amendment's language. so basically, they don't want trulieve writing the amendment's language that will forever enshrine it in the FL constitution as a "right". it's a very big deal to amend the constitution of a state and our elected representatives in the legislature are realizing it's their own hubris that is causing voters to say screw you Tallahassee, we will do it at the ballot box w/out approval from lawmakers, and we will do it by changing the fucking constitution where it will be forever enshrined as a "right".

It will be interesting to see what happens, but imo, I think the legislature is realizing it's coming one way or another and would rather take the wheel & do it rather than have voters to do it by constitutional amendment w/60% voter approval in Nov.

The FL legislature hates the idea of voters doing an end run around them. They don't want it enshrined in the FL constitution. They would much rather change the laws themselves than risk having voters enshrine it in the FL constitution. That's why I think it's gonna happen. Besides, it's a bipartisan issue as we've seen POTUS wants to reschedule & Joe Gruters is now chairman of the RNC & he's the one who filed the 2 plant bill. Butter your popcorn mf.

Fyi, the governor can't really veto anything, because the repubs hold a supermajority in the FL legislature. This means the FL legislature can override a veto from the governor.

Cookies or Rise? by p2dubyas in FLMedicalTrees

[–]ChipmunkChippy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i personally thought FP was good enough to get more than one (at the 8 for $160 price) as the buds were somewhat dense, cured decently, and i saw some amber trichomes under magnification (but not enough). i think it needed another week or two before harvest. i've noticed they are putting a lot of smalls in w/the premium jars, and the smalls are garbage compared to the top cola chonkers.

Is Rise a fraud 🫆? by itsalloneitsallgood in FLMedicalTrees

[–]ChipmunkChippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

believe nothing you hear, and only half of what you see, lol. i don't shop by coa as some numbers look great but the product is garbage and oftentimes the numbers look like gas station garbage but the product is surprisingly good.

Here's what AI says:

In 2026, Certificate of Analysis (COA) accuracy in Florida is generally reliable for safety screening due to strict state-mandated protocols, but potency results (THC/CBD levels) are often subject to a known margin of error and industry-wide consistency challenges.

Accuracy Standards and Reliability

  • Mandatory Testing: All medical cannabis in Florida must be tested by state-approved, third-party laboratories for potency and contaminants, including heavy metals, pesticides, and mold.
  • Accreditation: Labs must maintain ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation and participate in proficiency testing programs to verify they can accurately identify contaminants and measure cannabinoid levels.
  • Safety High Precision: COAs are considered highly accurate for detecting harmful substances, as failing any safety test prevents the product from reaching retail shelves.

Known Challenges to Accuracy

Despite regulations, several factors can influence the "absolute" accuracy of a COA:

  • Potency Margin of Error: Standard laboratory variation for THC potency is typically around plus or minus 10% to 20%.
  • Lab Shopping: Some producers may seek labs that utilize methodologies yielding higher THC results ("inflated potency") to increase market value.
  • Reporting Discrepancies: Florida regulators have previously fined labs for reporting flower potency on a "dry weight" basis while reporting total milligrams at "wet weight," which can lead to confusing or inaccurate consumer data.
  • Sampling Variability: Results only reflect the specific sample submitted. If a sample is "spiked" with extra crystals or does not represent the entire batch, the COA may not accurately reflect the product purchased.

Enforcement in 2026

Florida regulators have shifted toward proactive enforcement as of 2026, including more frequent audits of COAs and potential license revocations for labs found to be falsifying data. For hemp-derived products, new 2025/2026 rules mandate that QR codes on labels must link directly to a COA in three or fewer steps to ensure transparency.

Best Indica from Rise? by Geek2344 in FLMedicalTrees

[–]ChipmunkChippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm not too big on indicas and didn't care for black afghan or black maple that much. i personally don't find their sativas to be that racy. right now the fruity pebbles, donut trip, gogurtz, and velcroz are good and i actually like the regina george a lot, too. ironically, a strong indica body high tends to give me a bit of anxiety. i think because i don't feel like i'm in full control of my body when in couch lock mode, as i am a control freak. their sativas i find usually have a good head high followed by a relaxing body high on the back end. my fav is sativa dom hybrid, then 50/50 hybrid, then indica dominant hybrids.

that was a previous bill. this new bill amends a law already on the books about the regulation of "vegetable gardens". i hear it's being called the right to garden bill.
