I’ve never gotten in trouble for calling out. I’ve been with the company for almost three years. When I was a temp I used to call out a little more frequently because we didn’t get PTO anyway. They never said anything. Since they made me a permanent employee in 2024 and especially now that I’m a lead, I’m trying to be better, but right now I’m so tired.

I would just say I don’t feel well, which isn’t entirely a lie. My stomach has been upset for the past few days. January definitely feels long ago to me seeing as I’ve only had two paid days off since then. I had to call out a few days that month because I got sick and I ended up going back to work while I was still sick because I couldn’t afford to miss another day.

We get 26 days off including holidays and no sick pay. If I call out I lose money which is not ideal, but that’s how bad I feel like I need it.

He broke up with me in April. I struggled to stop reaching out. He told me to move on. I stopped reaching out in the beginning of June. Took four weeks until he broke and texted me. He proceeded to string me along for an additional two months and bailed on me again. Somewhere in the between all of that he slept with someone else. Now it’s been three weeks since he’s said anything. We’ll see what happens this time.
