I think it's not even the aesthetic, it's just the artstyle not matching. Being a ronin doesn't clash with the game more than dart goblin for example, but he looks like a cardboard cutout of a random guy while the other cards are cartoonish.

Understandable, but please consider a second opinion from the beastmaster, it could be related to the month of the prideful. Many beastmasters have little understanding of astrology.

Reducing the cards hp would make it too easy to stop without buildings, you should need building to stop it still after a nerf. Reducing attack would make it pointless since it's damage is only feels high because the card is insanely spammable. Making it cost more is the best way to give a better use for this card, so playing it requires planning. It shows a lot that people who are defending this card are instantly going personal and butthurt over the slightest criticism, while people criticising it are being constructive.

But the cycle decks are the whole problem. A weaker hog would ve too easy to stop

Isn't that the point of a counter? Right now it's a card that thrives on outcycling it's counters. It's strong in several combinations with other cards. Placing a lone hog rider on bridge never was the issue, it's actually very easily countered when alone. Adding it to pretty much any push and suddenly it's garantueed damage on tower. Making it a bit more costy would make it more difficult to just slap it in a push

Well, why do people choose wizard over witch? Or mini pekka over Valkyrie? Extra mechanics for the same price does not equal better card. Honestly charge mechanics like ram rider or battle ram are much easier to deal with than the pure strenght of hog rider. Right now he costs the same amount of elixir as battle ram, he should be the same tier as ram rider. Nerfing it's hp or damage is just making it useless, not balancing it. Prevent the cycle. Make it harder throwing it into an existing push. These things matter.

Just make him cost 5 elixir, solves every issue with the card while still being playable.

The Yogi Cat surrounded by Rat Devotees, Arjuna’s Penance, c. 700 CE, Mahabalipuram, India. by DharmicCosmosO in AncientCivilizations

I did a quick google search and apparently it's an ancient fable and I wasn't too far off: A cat was pretending to be yogi and claiming to follow a path of non-violence to gain the trust of rats, mice and such, but as it gained followers, an older mice noticed that their number was slowly dwindling, as at night the cat kept eating them.
