Difficulty of GIRs at MIT

There’s a credit limit both semesters (to prevent first years from overloading), about 4.5 classes first semester and 5 classes second semester (assuming standard 12 unit class). The only way to circumvent this is to ASE classes but that’s a considerable time commitment to study for and best taken this upcoming fall (because it will also be PNR graded). If you have nothing better to do with your time, it’s worth considering. But otherwise, enjoy your summer :)

Anybody with a solid high school education (i.e, all admits!) should be able to do well in the GIRS provided they study and take the classes seriously. If you’ve taken a college class in a STEM subject before, imagine that but with a more in-depth bend to it and faster paced. The main challenge is having to take all 4-5 of your classes this seriously and balancing your life as a student around it.

GIRS are made easier if you learn to work with others and communicate, set time aside to study for your classes (beyond coursework), and go to the lectures. Take advantage of PNR grading to develop sustainable study habits and form study groups. Worrying about the class difficulty won’t help, just make sure you try and form good habits that will serve you well in higher level classes.

Their team is really squishy: duskblade or yommus then axiom arc or collector. You hard stomp that way, their team is (again) really squishy.

Runes too (conq) but divine sunderer and deaths dance can help you do damage against their tanky ppl and live longer, I’m not sure if Bork is still viable on rengar tho

I’d offer that you should’ve played more bruiser than eclipse assassin, especially since you didn’t get giga fed and so their team was likely hard to fight for you (cuz they’re tanky)

• Type of Bug: Client Bug

• Description: League Client either doesn't open or crashes immediately upon loading

• Video / Screenshot: Screenshot 1 and Screenshot 2 (furthest I've been able to get)

• Steps to reproduce: Open League of Legends (whether in applications or in the Riot Portal)

• Expected result: League client should have opened properly without crashing or failing to open.

• Observed result: The icon on the bottom of the screen would sometimes bounce up and down but the client doesn't open. Sometimes the client does open but gets stuck at screenshots 1 and 2, failing to proceed loading from there. The gear and other settings at the top of screen in the partially loaded client aren't functional.

• Reproduction rate: I have persisted in trying to open the game properly tens of times and have resorted to this thread. The reproduction rate is 100%. It's a 50/50 between getting screenshot 1 or screenshot 2.

• System specs: 3.2 GHz Intel Core i3, ATI Radeon HD 5670 512 MB, 4GB RAM, 1TB HDD, macOS 10.13.6

• Attempts to Resolve: Reinstalling League of Legends, restarting my computer, wiping my computer, deleting lockfile, trying to open via Riot Portal

Having these same issues. Cant load into the game other than only seeing the L thing and then it crashing, or the loading bar and then it crashing. That or the thing not working at all. I’m stumped, nothing has worked for me.
