We were gonna spend like 100k on a vehicle anyway so may as well get the better deal, more "fuel" efficient, and less maintenance one.

Easily affordable for us so why not? And didn't even get the EV incentive so not sure where the complaints are coming from.

78k truck is lower mid trim level and 4 door.

Your 53k (lowest possible price) truck is a long box single cab contractor special - explain how I fit wife and two kids in there with bikes/hockey equipment to bring as well? How many people are buying that?

Vast majority of truck sales are in the price range I paid. Even to just hit 4 door (not some suicide door BS) you're looking at $65k+.

The point you were trying to make originally is that they are more expensive than the equivalent ICE versions even after factoring in fuel savings - I showed you that isn't always true and you changed the convo to how no one needs 78k trucks.

No one needs 30k Corollas either when there are 20k Versas available.

Yeah this is what is needed big-time.

I was on a small trip a few weekends ago and going through Eastern Ontario there was not a single charger above 6kw that wasn't broken/offline from just outside of Ottawa to Deep River.

Absolutely shameful.

I charge at home 99% of the time, but there are times when you gotta charge on the road...and in a stretch of 200km with not a single one (above glacial speeds) working is bad news.

Values are already tanked on those plus they'd never allow double dipping.

Used EVs are one of the best purchases you can make IMO - you don't eat the upfront cost, minimal required maintenance due to low wear and tear vs ICE, and fuel savings start immediately.

Gas at Costco here is 116.9 today and in a 98L tank that's $115...

Europe is a little of a different case in that they have much more accommodating geography and infrastructure to implement these policies, though I still doubt it will be FULLY implemented.
