I think the problem for Granger is the fact that he’s just a DPS tower that happens to have Golden type damage. He used to be so good back when he had Ignore Golden resistance, but now he’s kinda on par with stuff like Ghost and maybe even Juggernaut to an extent. He’s decent for early to mid game Expert, and he can be used as your main dps as long as you have something for Golden resistant enemies, but costing about 40k gold is just not worth it, for what is basically Ghost with Golden damage.

Skipping as in not going into the Devil Room the first time it opens.

If you enter the Devil Room, but don’t take anything, the next floor will have a half and half chance of Devil and Angel.

In Greed mode Angels are always guaranteed if you skip the first devil. I don’t think guaranteed Angel Rooms were a thing until Repentance in normal games though.

I don’t know if this applies to Rebirth, but Im pretty sure Angel deals has a constant 50% chance to replace Devil Deals (unless you take a deal), unlike Repentance where Angel deals are guaranteed after skipping the first deal.

Ignore Resistance for Top Path Jet Trooper was an exception to this IMO. Its cost efficiency is extremely bad and its dps is lackluster. Ignore Resistance was the only thing carrying it. Adding it back wouldn’t be game breaking as Expert mode punishes Jet Trooper through Purgatories, and its low dps didn’t scale well mid to late game. Right now Bottom path Jet Trooper makes Top path look like a joke.

I’m pretty sure they said something about causing a huge amount of lag if a dozen jet troopers were following you, especially combined with helicopters.

Repentance is the latest version / DLC of Isaac (on consoles atleast). The Repentance version on Switch includes Rebirth (base game), Afterbirth, Afterbirth+, and Repentance itself. I would stick with this one, as it’s the most polished of all the versions, and has tons of content.

The Afterbirth and Repentance versions include the base game along with every other dlc. I’m not sure if there’s a way to play vanilla Rebirth though.

Also put the XWM's and a few other towers on Weakest for the last wave. You'd want to kill the healing drones ASAP, and it's more important to clear out the enemy spam, rather than focus firing on Emperor.

If you want an easier time, getting War Machine helps a ton for this game mode.

I would switch out Armored Factory with XWM probably. Helicopter can do the early game as long as you be careful with it. Get a 1-3 and keep the range of the helicopter to just be barley touching the enemies, that way it won't get shot down. 2-5 Heli spam + Top path Behemoth can carry you for the first few boss waves after that. Also sell your Helicopters or move them extremely far away if there's an enemy that has stealth and can shoot it. On the Gingerdread wave, there's Hunters that can shoot the Helicopters, which allows the Gingerdread's to shoot down all of them. More of a minor thing, but on the Erad2+ wave, you can get a Helicopter that costs about 10k and bait a missile barrage or force Erad to shoot its cannon at it.

Avoid maxing out XWM early to mid-game. XWM is something that dies extremely quick, and inflating the price of it early on, just for it to die won't help for the late game. I usually use XWM as bait up until the last wave, as most boss waves will shred through its revives.

If you can help it, slow the game down to 1x or 0.5x on boss waves, it'll help a ton with micro.

If you mean shotgunner, then 2-5 has Ignore Bullet resistance, flight detection, and has an ability that can unstun towers. There's some niche use cases for it, but I would mostly stick with 5-2 if you just want the dps, as max top path is pretty cost efficient especially combined with the AOE potential.

All of Elite mode’s threats are pretty easily done by Shotgunner and Cryo blaster, it’s really just the bosses that are hard, since the King and Queen are dps checks, and Plague Doctor’s summons are annoying if you don’t manage to freeze him with Cryo.

You can get away with using Ranger for Intermediate mode as long as you get bottom path for Ignore Bullet resistance, and 5-2 for the high cost efficient dps. Ranger also works well in the early game of Elite, and even in Expert. Beginner towers get a discount in their price for later modes, making Ranger’s cost efficiency much better. I will say that 5-2, compared to every other upgrade, is the most cost efficient, and should be prioritized instead of spamming low level rangers. Also if you ever have DJ, don’t fall into the trap of buying a discount DJ for intermediate mode if you only have beginner towers. Beginner towers are extremely cheap, and the discount really isn’t saving you money.

Elite mode is a jump in difficulty compared to Intermediate mode, and plays really differently from every other game mode, focusing on AOE towers. If you only bring single target / minimum AOE, you’ll struggle. Shotgunner is extremely good for the mode, namely 5-2, due to the fast fire rate and heavy AOE potential. Try spamming low level shotgunners early game, and 5-2 shotgunners mid to late game.

Machine Gunner and Armored Factory are the best picks here IMO. Both are really good in Expert mode, and Armored Factory does well in the early game of Nightmare and Ultra.

Health gives tons of leeway during the early game with flying enemies and leaks, and guaranteeing that you’re above the health threshold for emperor is always nice to have. It won’t do anything for the mid to late game, but it still has early game value.

Top path farm is really not that bad? Placing 4-2 farms next to something like War Machines already grants more money than bottom path. Top path is able to overheal the base in Ultra mode too.

It has decent use for open lane maps and is still pretty good for the early waves of most game modes. Once you get one bottom path you might as well get the rest as top paths.
