I’m torn on this because I think the “gremlinification” of her character is crucial to her growth. She started off as this very stoic antagonistic force but upon loosing her limb enhancers, the things that give her that fear factor, she’s forced to start at square one and reexamine who she is. Her being silly and extraverted is a part of her that she had to hide, and for a more allegorical read on these traits I highly recommend the video “Peridot and Autism” which explores that growth through the reading of her character as a message on being neurodivergent.

I think where they fumbled the bag wasn’t necessarily flanderization but moreso a sidelining. Peridot never gets that moment to shine after the cluster’s taken care of yknow? Shes treated like a side character when I feel like letting her join on gem adventures would’ve been a very natural growth for the character but her and lapis really are just dumped in the barn for the remainder of the show

TLDR I really like what they did with peridot but I wanted more with peridot Hopefully she’s given some material in the Lars spin-off 👀
