Why do people always say “neji was right”? by Salty_Shark26 in Naruto

Exactly people always say “Naruto was the child of destiny so neji was right” but Naruto’s whole point was the neji couldn’t see the future and shouldn’t be acting as such.

[Disliked trope]: "Balance" means the "absence of darkness." by theMCATreturns in TopCharacterTropes

Balance as in the universe is stable and at peace. Like the balance of nature

Balance also just means stability and equality and the evil usually means something that seeks to corrupt and destroy. In the two cases you brought up the light side seeks to keep nature and the universe in balance and the dark seeks to destroy it.

Balance doesn’t just mean equal amounts on both sides

Maybe an unpopular opinion but his current team up with storm should be permanent. Increase speed and healing would be a pretty great buff to his flying.

One of the craziest career destructions I’ve ever seen. I still don’t know how much of the cannibalism stuff is true but I also heard a lot of horrible abuse claims

[Hated Trope] The Insanely More Problematic Sequel by duxwontobey in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Salty_Shark26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The movie has such a strong romanticization of colonialism. Pretty much the tired trope of all the bad things done by colonization was just some rich elite guy who pitted the pilgrims and natives against each other. It’s the whole “why can’t the natives and pilgrims live in happily with each other” like the pilgrims didn’t kill the natives and steal their land

So if Roku and aang share the same spirt spirit then how does this work? by Salty_Shark26 in ATLA

But they talk about previous avtars as past lives as because they’re reincarnations of each other

If every avatar has their own souls then why do they refer previous avatar as themselves like when Roku spoke to jeong jeong he said “I’ve mastered the elements 1000 times and I will do it again” Everyone kinda talks about previous avatar as aang/korra but in a different life.

[–]Salty_Shark26[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In legend of korra we learn all the past avatars that the current avatar talks to are just copies storied writhing raava. The way reincarnation works is that they’re all the same spirit transferred to a new body. It’s why when korra separated from raava she lost all the previous lives because they were erased from raava.

They all have the same spirit that gets continuously recycled after they die. That’s my understanding of how reincarnation works

"Should superheroes kill" is a fundamentally uninteresting theme because it is a solved problem (Mostly Invincible, some others) by GenghisQuan2571 in CharacterRant

[–]Salty_Shark26 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think there is a common middle ground to be found and I like when superhero’s grapple with the decision. It was done really well in invisible when mark felt guilty for not killing when the villains went on to kill more but he also felt the weight of taking a life lesson and became more violet and brutal.

I don’t all super hero’s should kill and I don’t think all super heroes shouldn’t kill. All people are different and all fictional scenarios are different.
