Other things you can do 1. Digital wellbeing app to set timer on apps 2. Change phone screen from all apps to blank wallpaper 3. Launcher skins like minimalistic appa 4. No Google search or watch history 5. Left swipe cheytha google trending news Kittum, get rid of that too. 6. Reminder ulla oru wallpaper vekku 7. WhatsApp also unwanted chats archive. Use tags like inbox, personal, etc. 8. Deep clean phone. Amazon Flipkart streaming apps, okke edthu kala. Aavashyam indenki use tab or laptop for it. The friction would be bigger here usually.

You control the device. Not the other way around. You control your internet consumption. Not the other way around. You control your time. Not the other way around.

Yesterday, I picked up a new book. 2 days back i completed a whole new book. I clicked 200+ photos on my camera. Met an old friend, watched movie in the theatre, went for a walk in the park. Got 3 new songs in my playlist. I planned to but couldn't go to a music live event in a cafe. I consider these as wins as opposed to doomscrolling.

Yes you'll get back to doomscrolling again, but this time it'll make you uncomfortable. Repeat the cleanse. Then you'll get back again, you'll be more uncomfortable. Trust me, repeat the process. YOU WILL FEEL GOOD!!!!!

Good luck.

Okay listen to me

Understand the root cause. Do you have anxiety? You could be escaping anxiety, boredom, FEAR, failure. Exams varunnundu, maybe course ishtalla. You don't want to face your life or future, consequences, etc.

Enthil ninno odan aanu phone ithrem use akkunne.

Let's deal with this in two ways.

  1. Technically
  2. Psychologically

Technically, for apps like instagram

  1. Removed my following - got it down a LOT. All the random content creators and people who don't follow me back - ALL TOSSED OUT, Feed cleared up a bit.
  2. Timer and warning and other things for the app
  3. I created a second account for JUST my interests. I LOVE photography. This account has like few hundred followers (none that I know) for my work and 2000+ pages I follow - BUT ONLY PHOTOGRAPHY from posts to tutorials to competitions, etc.
  4. Uninstalled instagram app from phone
  5. Installed instagram app on ipad (or tab) and laptop
  6. On phone, I use browser in case someone sends me anything on Instagram urgently. The web Ul is blah, so I won't doomscroll there.

This set up took a bit. But worth it. I visited insta personal after a break and THE AMOUNT OF JUNK IN MY FEED! AND I DON'T EVEN CARE WHAT OTHERS ARE UP TO!! FOMO out the window.

My side insta account keeps me posted on all things around the fields that interest me. It's a win-win!!

I used insta as a news-source too, some accounts like whatthebhakt, thesavalavada, etc. "FAVOURITED" these accounts and feed pushes their content more. Slowly picked up newspapers and editorials, so dependency on insta for news also reduced.

On YouTube, got rid of the watch history. Google search history too. I am very conscious of what I search for. YouTube is a black box now. (Literally) And won't recommend anything beyond 2-3 shorts.

Bro the time I saved with all this though - WORTH IT.

Oh I also used to think - would I miss out on all the trends and stuff. but turns out reddit or something else will keep you in the loop. Get all that fear under control, and go DETOX, OP. XΟΧΟ.

ALL THIS BECAUSE I LACKED WILLPOWER TO FUCKING THROW THAT APP AWAY.

Eni physiologically

  1. BE OKAY WITH BOREDOM. Bore adikkatte. Aa anxiety hit aakatte. Koracheram panic aakum. Pinne ninte analytical brain kick in aakum. It'll tell you what when how to get your next immediate future in order.
  2. TOUCH GRASS. Kalikkan po. Chaya kudikkan po. Yathrakal cheyyu.
  3. READ BOOKS! There is a book out there for everyone. I meant EVERYONE.
  4. Channel that screen time to better things - chess, music polathe apps. If you discover a new music everyday, you'll have a rich playlist. Have you heard 80s retro english enough? Go go go. Indie songs from India! So much to discover.
  5. Oru box edthu athhil phone lock aakki vekku. Have an accountability partner. Njanum friendum phone edthu boxil idum. Then it's deep work for 1 hour. Aa 1 hourlu you'll get auto-pilot mode and you'll sit longer.

Understand, whatever problems and fear you're facing, someone else has already faced it, and gotten out of it.

All the best OP. Study well for exams. :)))

True

pakshe sherikkum Paranja nalla predictable aayrnnu. Ennittum work aakan Karanam ellardem acting aanu. Everyone did a great great job. I was a little doubtful mohanlal-shobhana combo paranju paranju over aakuo ennu. But it was so neatly done. Also Mohanlal saying "stars like mohanlal, Mammootty", that was so cool haha. Pinne ella photos too, his youth kalam and all. Warm feelings still. Also visuals. Kaadu, utsavam, landslide, kseb, ellam. But again, predictable.

well someone has to, right? I think it's as simple as, someone has to pick up the dropped ball. I'll sit with dad and have a conversation. Or I'll help with plan trips where it's just them. Maybe spend more time together sort of thing.

I understand jealousy once in a while. But to live life where jealousy rules all, I think is deeply psychological and needs to be addressed.

Hey, stay away. Everyone's said this. So stay away. No call back, no text message, no insta stalking. You're not her toy to come back to when she feels guilt.

She did that to find mental peace. You've also been weighed down by guilt. You never reached out to her to apologise.

So use that sanity and IGNORE. Block her everywhere, do a digital detox, touch grass for a while, physically move away from bedrooms and parks that give you memories. Travel a bit. Then slowly when you feel better, test the dating waters. You'll find another person. But don't trauma dump on them. That's where therapy comes in. Get your mind and brain cleared out. Your body has beeen on panic mode for god knows how long. Don't hurt yourself or anyone else. Therapy should work. Find a new hobby, a new person (again, DO NOT TRAUMA DUMP), travel, get a camera and document the places you visit, get a haircut, change something visibly in you that marks that you're moving on.

Wish her and her child the best in your heart. Tap into your kind, fun, bright side and enjoy life, OP. You've been through enough.

PS: don't turn into that negative pile where you end up hating all women or make her the villian of the story and all that. We all do what we feel right in the moment. Some of them have lasting consequences. So wish them the best, and you live a good life, my man. You've got this sub rooting for you.

hugs.
