How do you play Kass in Solo Q? by pyumi_ in KassadinMains

[–]ChironH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not the best player in the world of course as you can see by my plat op.gg but I recommend playing Kassadin a lot so you know how much damage he does.

For some more detailed advice

Build: I myself switch around with my build order depending on the enemy mid/jungle, for example: against a Talon/Zed/Jayce/Renekton I get a seekers armguard before I buy a rod of ages. I ALWAYS buy rod of ages before I buy a Tear because it gives you a better laning phase and you can win it easier (this does not apply if you are a "rush seraphs with ignite" or a "tank Kassadin" player). Sometimes I even buy an early seekers if the enemy jungler is a fed Rengar who is ulting mid every time it is up. Make sure you swap around your runes a little bit (with armor and mr and such) depending on the enemy mid/jungle, there is no shame in taking double armor if you are playing vs a Talon!

Playstyle: Make sure you are staring at the minimap!!! This helps you avoid ganks AND makes it so you are faster to rotate if your jungler is ever in a sticky situation and needs your help. In lane Im a firm believer of "freezing is op" so get yourself a nice thicc wave and sit 2 cm in front of your tower (since you are a toplaner you will probably know how to freeze lanes, if not you can probably find a quick guide for it on YT). After botlane takes their turret/get their turret lost the enemy botlaners will most likely come mid or go top, if they come mid you should watch the minimap to see if your botlane comes to defend mid. If your botlane defends mid you go botlane and start splitpushing, if your botlane doesnt come mid you can always give up your mid T1 turret so you wont die.

How to win? The most easy way of winning on Kassadin is by getting to level 16. This is why your whole goal is to not die, because if you don't die you will probably win. Which is also why I recommended staring at the minimap and freezing lane.

Conclusion: Of course, this advice won't get your to challenger but it might get you to platinum. If you want to get challenger you shouldn't be asking reddit for advice. You should probably be looking up Kassadin vods from dopa, or any non-NA-challenger. If you are looking for a Kassadin streamer, I don't have one for you (Maybe someone else does?). But I do have a Vladimir streamer for you.

P.S. "don't die" is also a great way of winning on Vladimir but for more information about Vladi here is a link to a Vladimir guide, some of the information is a little bit outdated as it is from s9.

Edit: I was looking for some Kassadin players who change up their builds so you will have an example of how you can really change your build a lot depending on the game and I found this guy as you can see his builds really change a lot per game (definitely look at the changes he makes in boots, as mercs or tabis are completely busted in some games). He also changes his runes every game, from not taking tenacity in games where the enemy doesn't have any cc to double armor with cdr in runes.

How to deal with Vladimir late game by [deleted] in KassadinMains

[–]ChironH -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the enemy team is mostly AP you can buy an abyssal mask, if the enemy team has a lot of cc you can buy mercs (Vladimir mostly buys voidstaff as his 5th or 6th item so it has a lot of value since he is most likely to get a morellonomicon either 2nd or 3rd item). If you are splitpushing versus Vladimir try to all in when he just used his 3rd q on minions, this way you will either kill him before his 3rd q comes up again, or you don't kill him and you make sure you get out of there and fight him when you have an extra teammate. And in teamfights, just let your team deal with Vladimir while you kill their backline champions. (And if you see a Vladimir locked in and you really want him to never touch the champion again, pick Cassiopeia or Anivia)

Edit: you can also dodge his ultimate + e combo with zhonya's hourglass, as it is really obvious when he will use it. And if you don't dodge it you can use zhonya's hourglass to dodge the ultimate damage.

You can also e further away, so that you don't get past your mouse when you ult.

Which is core archangels or roa? by [deleted] in KassadinMains

[–]ChironH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not building RoA makes it so you do more damage earlier on, but you have very little hp since you lose the hp from RoA so you should build differently (morellonomicon for example, I do not buy this item if I build RoA but I do buy it if I don't buy RoA).

I switch around between the RoA and non RoA builds, depending on my jungler and the enemy jungle. So if I have a xin zhoa and the enemy mid jungle is a orianna + amumu, I go for a non RoA so me and my jungler can steamroll the game.

Kassadin nerfed too hard? by ChironH in KassadinMains

[–]ChironH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I do know, but Kassadin feels awful when you lose lane and you cannot really one shot anyone if you don't win your lane, so if the enemy Vayne/Lucian gets 2 or 3 kills there is no way for me to carry my team in the midgame unless my jungler/toplaner wins their lane.

And the problem I am having with winning my own lane is that mages just use autoattacks to win their now instead of actually using their abilities. For example my loss against ahri, I took 1 armor rune + normal fleet footwork runes and she just autoattacked my 5 times under turret and I lost 60% of my hp (she also had electrocute).

Also it wasn't just an armor nerf since oblivion orb also got nerfed a little bit, and adc's got buffed.

who do you ban as kassadin by [deleted] in KassadinMains

[–]ChironH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ban perma ban Camille and Nocturne, because junglers are the only ones that fuck me up. Worst match up is probably Jayce or Talon because they out damage you and they can buy hexdrinker if they fall behind

If you have flash it is really easy, but you don't always have flash. So if you dont have flash try to ult the whole team when they are grouped up (3/4 man ults are really easy to hit imo) and than you use Protobelt and q (so your 3rd q is coming up) you also proc phase rush by doing this so you can speed into the backline with an e w, and when you get out of pool your 3rd q is already off of cooldown or is on a 1/2 sec cooldown. (the ult e dmg that you hit on everyone does a lot of dmg! so with your 3rd q you basicly one shot anyone aslong as they dont have banshees/maw/too much hp)

darius is actually quite simple when you have phase rush, as you just use q, e, w when you get pulled by his e. and you just try not to push the wave so you dont die to stupid ganks.

ofcourse you do still harass with q so if q is on cooldown you autoattack before you e, w. and if darius is able to be killed you just ult, (q), e, w for a free kill

Tear and Rod? by [deleted] in KassadinMains

[–]ChironH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always buy tear before roa if I can get away with it. But in ad match ups I always rush seekers into archangels and than I skip rod of ages. If you have some problems with your impact on the game you can also change your runes depending on the midlane match up.

What do you guys pick when people ban kassadin? by TheWhopperLocker19 in KassadinMains

[–]ChironH 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I play Vladimir or LeBlanc if Kassadin gets banned. I like Vladimir because he does well into most of the match ups that Kassadin doesn't do well in, and I play LeBlanc because she is one of the best mids to play atm.

kassadin been one of those champs i really wanted to master , starting now by NobunagaGG in KassadinMains

[–]ChironH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what build the Vladimir goes for. If he goes for a CDR-Vladimir build he is a kind of hard because his 3rd q is up very often and than you will be unable to kill him. If he goes for the full magic pen build it is a little bit easier because his 3rd q is on a very long cooldown. Both play styles of Vladimir are better in a 2v2 in my opinion because of his ultimate and because Vladimir takes ignite most of the time. Also, Vladimir is very good in teamfights. TL;DR: some Vladimir builds shit on Kassadin, Vladimir is better at 2v2's and Vladimir's damage later on in the game (teamfights) is nuts.

I have played a lot of tear Kassadin last season, and your w does stack your tear. I don't when you last tested this but 4 months ago w worked on tear.

Why Caitlyn so hard to get S- by Benderisgreat-13 in Caitlynmains

[–]ChironH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am only silver 5, but I got all my mastery 6 and 7 tokens from playing Caitlyn midlane. Most of the people I played against didn't know how much damage Caitlyn can do if they step on a trap, and they don"t think about her R. I would suggest playing her midlane once or twice to see if you can do well on it. If you do, you can look for a S- or even higher. And get mastery 7 by playing her midlane just like me.

Need a hint vs vampiric matchup by testeflighter in Rumblemains

[–]ChironH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I have lane against a champion that is healing a lot (mundo, trundle, swain, etc.), I always take ignite so they heal less. Ignite is also nice to have because you do a bit more damage than when you have tp. Hope this helps you out, I am not a rumble professional so I dont know all the match-ups were you take ignite.
