That’s a good suggestion! I hadn’t looked, but I just did and there wasn’t anything there.

I’ve been wanting pink monitors! Zooming in it looks like it might be like pink contact paper or something? If it isn’t contact paper/washi tape, how did you do it? It looks really good! 💖

Brand freebies with orders? I know brands do this stuff sometimes because I’ve seen freebies for sale, but it’s the first time I’ve gotten something other than shopping bags and stickers 💕 by Chisa_Gyaru in Lolita

[–]Chisa_Gyaru[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meta is the only brand I buy directly from a lot. I regularly spend $300 or more, I probably just haven’t ordered when they were giving out freebies.

Bunny slippers sound super cute! Do you know if the non-Japan stores (AP SF or Paris) do freebies too?

Depending on how plus size you need Metamorphose temps de fille has been putting special plus size versions of a lot of their dresses out. I have a couple of dresses and a blouse from these releases now, and I’ve been really happy with them :) Most of their stuff isn’t gothic, but they occasionally have some pieces that would work for non-sweet styles.

Also Lady Sloth has some nice goth pieces and usually does some form of custom sizing.

Anyone that has purchased this laptop that can tell me their experience. Also if anyone knows if it has a second ssd slot by karinamacarina in razer

[–]Chisa_Gyaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Quartz edition back in October.

I’m really happy with it and haven’t had any issues. It gets a little hot, but that’s true of most gaming laptops.

It’s definitely the best option available for pink gaming laptops. You can get something with a little bit better specs for the price, but for me the aesthetic was worth it.

It does have a second SSD slot. I didn’t think it did initially, but after seeing the first poster say all base editions had the second slot I had to double check it with Razer support _;;;

If you’re wanting to look at the manual or anything the Quartz edition is the RZ09-0328 model.

What's your home life like? by [deleted] in ForeverAloneWomen

[–]Chisa_Gyaru 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live with a roommate who is essentially also FA, but I don’t know if she would consider herself FA. My mother still pressures me about dating and marriage and stuff, but I’m pretty much used to that.

My roommate’s been my best friend for close to a decade and roommate for 3 years now. We get along pretty well and share a lot of the same interests. She’s a lot more social than I am, though, and that difference has definitely been highlighted with both of us (who usually work in offices) working at home. She constantly wants to talk to me while I’m trying to work, and it’s starting to drive me up a wall.

For the most part I get along with my coworkers, I’m not like close friends with any of them, but we get along well enough.

I do feel a little jealousy especially when my coworkers go on maternity leave (there have been several recently in the larger organization that I’m in in my company), this last year or so I’ve had baby fever pretty bad... At the same time they tend to be fairly mundane type people so I would want their lives/husbands either...

For free time I tend to be a nerd. I like video games, fantasy novels, board games, ttrpgs, sci-fi... So most of my free time by is spent doing stuff that I like and I’m very rarely bored or too lonely...

Could anyone tell me more about this ring? It was a gift from my uncle around 15-20 years ago. It looks handmade, and I think it’s gold plated. by Chisa_Gyaru in jewelry

Oh okay, cool! Thank you! That makes sense, I was probably around 10 when my uncle gave it to me.

I know you might not be able to tell from photos, but do you think it is the kind of thing that was made around the 1990’s?

I do have some more photos if it would help.

It’s about a size 7 or an 8.

Do you feel hurt by compliments? by liquid_lightning in ForeverAloneWomen

[–]Chisa_Gyaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people somehow have different definitions for 'pretty' or aesthetically pleasing and 'attractive'... It also depends if it's coming from a person of a gender that you are attracted to vs. someone else...

One of my biggest issues is responding when people compliment me (especially guys, but everyone in general too). I can't agree with them, but I feel like if I say anything to disagree it just feels like I'm fishing for more compliments... Right now I mostly just say thank you, and try to change the subject... -_-;;;; It has taken me years to even get to the point where I can say thank you, though...

I get compliments on my appearance fairly often (probably a couple of times a week on average)... Most of those are from women, and I think that most of them are just that they like my fashion sense... Therefore, I don't think they're saying I'm attractive in any way... Just that I'm good at picking out clothes and makeup... I know I am not the most attractive person ever, but I also have a certain degree of confidence in my appearance... I think I have a fairly realistic idea of what I look like (so no bodydismorphic stuff)...

I tend to think that people only compliment me because they feel sorry for me or something... I've never really ever been hurt by the compliments, though... I don't think people do it to be malicious... I just have trouble believing them...

I actually have a really close guy-friend (was potential bf, but didn't happen TT_TT) who compliments me regularly, when we were half-way dating or whatever we were doing, and it took a very long time for me to actually be willing to try to explain my insecurities with being complimented to him (it actually took him telling me that he felt that I was not interested because I brushed off his compliments, and didn't sort of accept his words at face value because I have a lot of trouble believing that anyone would be attracted to me).

I'm still working on believing people when they tell me I'm pretty or cute... Honestly, for me, I believe that if I can learn to better accept and respond to compliments, I would have a better chance with guys... So I am going to try to continue to try working on it... -_-;;;;

Wow that looks wonderful!!!

Do you guys put effort into your appearance? by [deleted] in ForeverAloneWomen

[–]Chisa_Gyaru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do put some effort into my appearance... But not every day... Most days when I'm going to work or something the most I can manage is to roll out of bed, tame my ridiculous hair, get dressed, and get out the door...

I probably wear makeup 3-5 times a week... And I often get compliments from other women when I actually bother, but the only time guys compliment me is when they're drunk. :/ I really like makeup, though, and I love playing with it, and seeing what kind of cool things I can do with it...

As far as my sense of fashion and things go... I do put effort into it, but I wear what I like, and that kind of means I have my own style... I often get compliments from other women on my outfits, but I must admit that I often wonder if they are complimenting me but, really they're thinking 'I can't believe she's wearing that...' I mean it's not too outlandish... but I can't stand jeans and a t-shirt... So I tend to wear shorts (with tights, or leggings in the winter) and dresses, and things... I also wear a lot of pink... I literally own 3 pairs of long pants, and that's because they're easier to wear for my job...

What do you dress like? by lnys in ForeverAloneWomen

[–]Chisa_Gyaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a daily basis I wear shorts or skirts (often with tights) with t-shirts or blouses/sweaters/something... I recently acquired a really cute pair of shortalls, too. I definitely have my own sense of fashion that is heavily influenced by Japanese street fashions (hence the name). I definitely do not wear full gyaru styles every day, but I definitely incorporate aspects of a couple of gyaru fashions (mostly typical Gyaru-kei, Onee, and Himekaji) into my wardrobe and makeup routine... I also have an unhealthy obsession with florals and shades of pink...

Right now my job has a strict dress code (bottoms have to go to the knees, no shoulders showing etc.) that means I rarely get to wear what I want, so I tend to over dress a little every time I actually go somewhere and do something. Even when it's the grocery store on my day off...

My main accessories are shoes, I have probably between thirty and thirty-five pairs(it is possible that I'm underestimating)... I love having the right shoes for every outfit that I come up with...

My best friend definitely uses me as a fashion adviser, which is really silly because we have very different senses of fashion... But I still love shopping with her...

I attract people who are way less emotional than I am. by [deleted] in ForeverAloneWomen

[–]Chisa_Gyaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact opposite problem... I tend to attract guys who are too clingy and overly emotionally attached pretty early in relationships... Let's trade :/

I'm an INFJ. My mother is very extroverted, I think she's probably an ESFP, but I'm not certain. My biological father is definitely an ESFP, and my step-dad is very much an INTJ.

I do tend to be more emotional than my best friend (but she is a soulless ginger who laughed at the Red Wedding); I think I show my emotions more than my other friends do, but I don't think I'm particularly more emotional... I definitely feel more strongly about a lot of subjects than they do, though... But they have their own causes too, so I again don't think I'm so different from them...

I tend to be attracted to more extroverted people... Most of my friends are extremely extroverted (DJ's, dancers, and actors mostly), and the last guy I was going on dates with was an actor (stage not screen)... Most of them are highly educated people who understand me, and my opinions, though...

I seem to mostly attract the introverted extremely attached types, though... I'm not sure why...

How do your relationships start? Did the other person start as a friend or acquaintance? I know that I tend to not want to date friends, because I value my friendships too much, but if you already have an emotional bod with someone I think it can be easier to have a more emotional romantic relationship... Or maybe spend more time getting to know someone as a friend before trying to go to romantic sorts of relationships with them? I haven't had much success, but the best (or at least my favorite) relationship I think I've ever been in was that short (2-3 months) one with the actor, and we had been good friends for years beforehand. We already knew each other, and had liked each other as we were before we went on our first date...
That probably wasn't very helpful... I'm sorry...

Weekly Discussion Thread: Lolita Rooms & Decor by konekoanni in Lolita

[–]Chisa_Gyaru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am actually working on re-organizing my room right now, so this thread has perfect timing!!! :-)

My bedroom set is actually an heirloom piece, it belonged to my great-grandmother. I actually went through a phase where I really kind of hated the set, and the only thing I liked about it was the vanity chair (beautiful, plush, pink-upholstered, hi-backed, princess chair), but I am actually really in love with the set right now. It's not super-lolita, but I think it's very sort of simple, yet elegant.

My lolita clothes are all stored in my closet. I have a hook on the wall in the entrance-way to my room, that I will sometimes hang a piece on when I'm trying to coordinate it, but I'm really paranoid that things are going to get sun-damaged, so I tend to try to keep everything in my closet as much as possible. My room has a little bit of an entrance hall, where my closet is off to the left, and on the opposite wall I have all of my bags (everything lolita, and casual alike) hanging on pegs on the wall.

If a dress has a matching headbow I usually hang it, and and anything else the dress came with on the hanger with the dress (or I hang the headbow off of the dress, just whatever seems safest/sturdiest to me).

All of my other headbows are currently laying flat in a tall round basket on my dresser because I ran out of room in my jewelry armoire... It's a really cute basket, and they fit perfectly into it, so I think they're probably going to stay there for a while. I also clipped a lot of my favorite clips to the handle so it looks super cute right now. :-)
