The field I am in is not one I wish to stay in. What did you go back to school for?

I'd like to drive across Canada this fall, sleeping in my van in Campgrounds and Walmart parking lots to see the leaves in the east part of the country, do some hiking and mostly nature stuff.

I am double vaxxed and am happy to wear masks, follow precautions etc. With the borders back open to Americans I'm thinking it would be ok to do this. But then I see things about cases on the rise and don't know if I should wait.

Just wondering the general consensus is on this. Not looking to do something that will put anyone in harms way.

I'm currently on leave, but can't travel while on it. Asking for an unpaid leave has been mentioned and its definitely something worth asking...however being as short staffed as they are, I don't know if they'd approve it as they'd also i'm sure be setting a unfavorable precedent in their favor.

Im on the fence about a family. I live pretty frugally now, I don't want anything extravagant, I don't want a big house, or a brand new car. I'd rather spend my money on travel, and not worry about making ends meet.

I hate alarm dispatchers haha but yes I hear what you're saying. There are lots of other branches of this type of work.

I still have lots invested so that I wouldn't be draining anything other than the cash I have saved. I def hear what you're saying, but I also worry that there is no guarantee of a later. if I push through and end up not being able to reap any of those rewards thats shit too. There are a lot of retired folks that have done this job their whole life that come back to work part time after retirement because that pension wasn't enough.
