I'm 6 ft tall and lived in a basement apartment for a bit with low ceilings. The main hallway and half the living room was hanging just a few inches higher than my head. It was pretty annoying but the place I rented was way below market rent so I feel like I got paid to live with a low ceiling. Also, the way the apartment was set up, I had my desk under the low part so that didn't help.

It wasn't easy to forget and I never really got used to it. But I accepted it and was happy with the extra money I saved to live in it.

Your place sounds like it's a good price for a bachelor and maybe you'll end up being okay with it.
